Quinn passed
I went to the wake this evening. There were pictures of Quinn all over the rooms and in just about every photo she had this enormous, gorgeous smile. There were hundreds of people waiting to pay their respects and Eileen and Brett greeted each one personally. I had never met Eileen or Brett in "real life" but had gotten to know Eileen through LIW years ago, then LIF and of course, her blog. I wanted to say that I was so sorry for their loss, that their beautiful child had changed my life - but I couldn't get any words out other than "I'm so sorry" and I was just crying and crying. . . and Eileen actually tried to make me feel better. Here is this woman who has suffered the most unimaginable loss, and is actually trying to comfort me. I don't know how they got through it. I hope that sheer number of people wanting to pay their respects gave them some measure of comfort. . . I think in some ways Quinn made her own addition to her bucket list - "change the world." And she did. Rest in peace, beautiful girl.

I've been thinking about them all day, how they're holding up and I can't even imagine what they're going through. They're an incredible family that are just so strong and to lose such a beautiful child is so just so unfair. I hope they found peace and that the days coming when everything is sinking in will be manageable for all of them,

I can't believe this woman's strength! I wouldn't be able to stand up, let alone greet hundreds of people and keep it together. What an amazing family.

They really are amazing. They approached this situation with strength and pure LOVE. Not only a wonderful thing for Quinn, but such an incredible example for their sons.
