rainforest swing-is your baby too heavy?

when I take Josh out of this swing, it flies back and forth if left on and he's not in it. when he's in it, it barely moves..Chat Icon

This is what happens to Steve too Chat Icon

What number do you put it on? Maybe if you put it on a higher number it will go a little faster.

Steve doesn't even like his swings. Over $120 each swing down the drain. Add it to all the other waste of money products we've boughtChat Icon

I think it happends with all swings.....

Julia's use to do the same when I use to put her in it, I thought it was the batteries, but when she wasn't in it it would go wild--lol

Mine does that too. I didn't notice what it does when Lily's not in it. When it's slow I give it a push or too to get it going faster.

Re: rainforest swing-is your baby too heavy?

what is too heavy? want to be prepared. DD is 11 lbs now and the ocean one swings well - too fast in fact but I hate the way its positioned, straight up, I thought they are suppose to be laying down in it looking up at the fishes and lights? the way the seat is DD has to tilt her head up and that cant be comfyChat Icon

Does it recline back? I have the Rainforest swing at my moms and the Lovin' Hug swing at my house. The Luvin Hug one reclines a lot. Also, can you ajust the positioning of the lights and things? On the two swings that I have you can ajust the positioning depending on how reclined or sitting up they are.

I started noticing the swing lagging when DS hit about 14 lbs. Which for us was only 2 months old Chat Icon Now he is on number 5 and it's still lagging.

Funny, I just put DD in the Rainforest bouncy seat thinking she has less than a month left in it! Chat Icon

I noticed that too, it's a really cool swing but once baby goes in it doesn't even move. I disasembled it and returned it and got the Papasan Cradle Swing and it is great.

I saw some of the reviews also on Babies R US.com and they said the same thing. They were also discussing that it didn't have the ball in the lights in the middle like they did with the aquarium swing. That is the part that my son liked the best!

When I put DD in it she was only about 2 months old, not even and it didn't swing and she wasn't near 14 pounds at that time so I think they just haven't perfected all of those swings yet. If you have the receipt, def return it.

we bought the electric swings, I love them much better than the battery operated one.

I should not have been so quick to throw out the box. Mine is always plugged in, I never use the batteries..and still its just at a standstill.

Re: rainforest swing-is your baby too heavy?

how strange. we have the FP aquarium swing & DD is over 20 pounds (7 1/2 months old) & it still works great- we just put it at a higher speed setting. the swing was the most useful baby item we've owned. i guess every baby is different.

My friend has the FP aquarium swing too and it works great. I think the rainforest one is the one that gives people problems. That is what the reviews say as well. Some work okay others not really at all.
