Raking the leaves today got me thinking...
How many people take care of their own lawn... compared to those who hire landscapers to take care of everything?

DH and I were raking today as well! We like being out in the fall air and the exercise. our lawn is a monster though.... our yard is surrounded by trees on three sides, so it's a lot of work. we'll see how long we do it on our own!

Yeah, we do our own too.. but all of our neighbors have landscapers who take care of their yards.
I am not looking forward to waking up tomorrow as I am sure my body is going to be hurting!

Dh and I rake each year! We did it once and now you can't see our lawn again and the trees still have tons of leaves on them!

we live in a coop we own.. but we pay maintenace to clean..

I actually did the lawn this year. We did the beds our front in the spring together. I was tempted to rake today.. but I cant bring myself to do it.
Soo.. Im having someone come do the fall cleanup

I used to before my back got jacked up.
I miss it actually. I just have too much lawn and yard to even attempt to be in one piece after doing the yard.

Exactly!! And with snow in the forecast this week, we need to get them off the ground QUICK!

We have landscapers. We don't have a garage or shed, so there's really no where to put equipment. DH has also never done yard work. Until we brought house, DH lived in condos/apt.

we do ours... we were just doing leaves today, too. ours is like a living hell because we have almost 3/4 of an acre that backs up to woods... so we have trees on our property AND the leaves blow in from the woods.
But this year, DH just bought a new lawn tractor that has a leaf bagger and it makes it so much easier! we just rake them onto the lawn, then he drives along and the tractor picks them up! it only took us about 1 1/2 to do most of our yard... not too bad!

We rent so we feel it shouldn't be our problem-but this didn't stop our landlord from asking us the help him rake the leaves.

Since I do the landscaping.... I am working in a "smarter" way.
I "mow" the leaves.  They get sucked into the lawn mower. I can't rake all those leaves. My yard is way too big.

this is what DHs new tractor does, too! SOO much easier than having to put the leaves into a bag ourselves!

dh does the lawn and i take care of bushes and beds. we have a vacuum that takes care of the leaves, so no raking!
