Random ceiling fan question
This may possibly be the most random/dumbest thing I've ever needed to know...
Which way should the blades be turning for the summer?

Re: Random ceiling fan question
There are different ways to turn them??
Always go clockwise. Once a fan turns counter clockwise in the movies, you're screwed.

There's a switch that you can flip...one way is to cool and the other way is to help circulate the air in the winter to move the warm air back down low...

Re: Random ceiling fan question
I guess mine are installed wrong, we don't feel the breeze if it's counter clockwise. Another thing to add to the list of repairs.

there should be a small switch somewhere on the motor housing to change direction.
On some of the cheaper ones, you actually have to turn each blade..... the really cheap ones might not have the ability to change direction at all.

Re: Random ceiling fan question
this is interesting:
So whichever position you feel the most air movement when standing directly under the fan is the correct position for summer.
