Random Poll of the day: conversations about cheese (this one's for Leslie!)
I went to the grocery to get cheese for the matzah lasagne i'm making for dinner tonight.
the fat free sorrento mozzarela was on sale at A&P.
so i picked up a package and another woman was also deciding on which cheese to get and she also noticed the sale.
she saw me pick the fat free and then proceeds to have an entire conversation about cheese-- fat free vs. regular-- with me.
i thought the conversation would never end! 
so my question for you ladies, is do you have conversations with strangers in the grocery?

When I lived outside of Texas, I used to have conversations with people at the store. But people here are very much against it.
Also, when I would talk to people I would be aware of when thet reached the boredom level.

No, I don't have conversations with random people, but my mom always starts talking to people in stores! I always make fun of her and then she denies doing it!

It rarely happens....but if approached..and if by a person I feel comfortable with...I don't mind talking.
Most of my conversations have been in the wine aisle concerning reccomendations. And they have always been great convos! I love my fellow winos!

Me too. I'm always polite but never carry on the conversation more than necessary. And for some reason, if the stranger is a guy, I always think he is trying to pick me up.

My mother on the other hand sparks up conversation EVERYWHERE she goes. I just LOVE shopping with that one!

Ditto. And when they start talking to me, I feel odd and answer with one word answers so they get the hint.
Last week at the supermarket, the cashier was extra talkative, while she hurled my stuff down the conveyer belt. (Lady, the reason the conveyer belt is there so you dont need to throw it.) And oh yeah, she would only use one hand too. But I digress, the conversation.
Her: "Oh, what a nice bag you have, where did you get it?"
Me: "Coach"
Her: "OOoh, it's real? Maybe that's why its so nice...."
What, was she expecting me to invite her to one of those fake pocketbook parties or something?
