Random Poll Time! Public Restrooms...
I'm a squatter! Though there are times when sitting can't be avoided. So, I do the ritual of wiping the seat with a huge wad of TP, wiping it again, putting down the seat cover, and then...well...you know the rest!
How about all of you?

I wipe and cover and still squat when I can and my muscles permit. But Ill be honest, I have yet to hear of anyone who has contracted any sort of disease by sitting on a toilet seat. It is more of the thought of my butt touching what someone else's butt has that simply skeeves me.

Mostly squat- but sometimes if I am too lazy to hold myself up- I will use a seat cover if provided- or toilet paper to line the seat if no covers are provided.
I agree that you probably can't "catch" anything from sitting on it- but it's just the thought of it that skeeves me!

I wipe with a large wad of paper and sit. I hate squatters, they are the ones who miss and make the seat so dirty to start with!

I always squat, and yes I ALWAYS wipe the seat afterwards. I hate seeing pee on the seats. And I will NEVER do #2 in a public restroom. DH thinks I'm crazy.

I sit. There are really no diseases you can contract from a toilet seat. Squatting just makes it harder for it to actually go into the bowl, and IMHO, its what makes some public bathrooms gross. If everyone sat, there would be no pee on the seats.

I agree! If everyone sat down (with seat covers or paper towels if they want to) there would be no pee on the seats to begin with!
Sort of off topic, but I also think people worry about the wrong things, I think you have more of a chance of catching something from the handle on the stall door and the outside door than on the toilet seat, if only because unless you have an open sore on your a** it's unlikely you'll catch anything from the seat- you're more likely to catch germs from something on your hands (by touching your mouth or eyes for example). I have seen plenty of women walk out of the stall and go right to the door without washing her hands.
