Also, for those that say they extra step is pointless...it's really not (ip addresses get recorded upon log in)
Devils advocate: OK, so you know that this person logged in with their laptop once from a McDonalds one day, Borders the next day, Starbucks the next.... is that a crazy stalker, or a legitimate poster who just has a laptop and drives around a lot for business? I'm not trying to stir up anything, just saying that if a person really wants to get information, there's not much you can do to prevent them. Criminals usually have more time and resources available to them than honest people have to prevent them.
Yes, there a people in the world that are evil, but I try not to dwell on that fact. I accept the fact that in today's society, I cannot hide. If I go to the mall, there are security cameras, so people have pictures of me and my family. Everyone has a camera phone, so anyone on the street can legally take a picture of me and my family. My license plate is posted in full view on my cars, so the same person at the mall or on the street who just took my picture, can also take a picture of my license plate. In a few minutes, they have my address, know that I'm not home, know that I have kids, what they look like, where I like to shop, etc, etc, etc.... If they happen to have a cohort who works at the mall, if I buy something from that person and give them my credit card, they have my CC#, signature, extra numbers from the back of the card....

i agree..we should have to sign in like the relationship board!
why does the relationship board only have this feature ?
they should have this for the whole site.
they are MANY lurkers (and those who claim they dont lurk but they do )
Im kinda half way on this, I agree with being discrete and keeping as much private as possible. but it's just as dangerous to be walking outside our own homes.
