Random WWYD question...
OK...I work in a very family-oreiented restaurant. We have a customer who is...well...a man who dresses as a woman. That in and of itself is fine with me, IDC. My sister was eating dinner and told me he/she used the ladies room. I didn't know what to say or do. I mean, I am not gonna tell the guy/girl he can't go in there, but it was weird to me nonetheless. But did I really think he/she would use the mens room? It's a situation I never thought about.
FWIW, he/she is older (at least 60 or so). It's painfully obvious that it's a man dressing as a woman, if you know what I mean.
Sooo...if you were a customer in a restaurant where a man dressing as a woman used the ladies restroom, would you care and/or say something to management?

Re: Random WWYD question...
I personally wouldn't say anything, it just wouldn't bother me. We have a few (cross-dressing??) men in my neighborhood. It just seems like such a difficult life... KWIM? I don't see the point of making it harder for them. I'm sure some others would say something to him and/or management, but as I said, personally, it wouldn't bother me ...

Re: Random WWYD question...
I wouldn't care. anything I'm doing, I'm doing behind a closed door.
And I have used men's rooms MANY times, when the girls line is way to long
edited to add: I guess I would freak out if I was a parent and my kid was in the bathroom alone, and I saw him go in. but then again I couldn't just assume, I think I would need proof.

Re: Random WWYD question...
If she were using the restroom and just doing her business, I wouldn't care. If she was doing something lewd I would say something. But then again, if a woman was doing something lewd, I'd probably say something too.

Re: Random WWYD question...
I really would not care about them going into the bathroom. Just cause they may not look like a "pretty" woman doesn't mean they feel less of a woman, KWIM? Perhaps its someone who has been transitioning late in life to this lifestyle and isn't as feminine as we'd expect.
I'd just let it be.

He/she was in the ladies room in a stall, correct? Then what is the harm really?

Same with me. As long as he keeps to himself, I'm ok.

Re: Random WWYD question...
If they were a pre or post op transexual, well they would have the right to use that bathroom. And it is behind a stall door, so it would be okay with me.

Re: Random WWYD question...
I really wouldnt have a problem with it. There are stalls in the ladies room. Whatever he/she chooses to do is fine with me.

I never said there was "harm."
I was just asking for opinions if others may feel uncomfortable. I agree with every one of them in that I wouldn't care or say anything to management.

Re: Random WWYD question...
You know, it's funny, because this week I got a complaint into my office from a Student in a nursing program who believes she is being discriminated against after her sex change, and it was exactly this issue.
Her peers and professors refuse to call her by her appropriate pronoun, and insist on calling her "him", and the program ultimately suspended her because she disobeyed their orders to NOT use the female restroom and lockerrooms.
It's awful, it really is, and I feel so bad for this woman, but unfortunately the law, or at least the laws we enforce, do not protect against discrimination on the basis of transgender/transsexual status, so there is nothing I can do for her .

Re: Random WWYD question...
A multi-stall restroom? I think it would bother me, but I think they have every right to use the restroom that they feel most comfortable in.
I imagine being transexual is a difficult life to lead so my heart goes out to the person. If it was a tranvestite, I'd have an issue. That's purely for fetish purposes & they have no business in a restroom of the opposite sex.
Again if there was anything lewd, that would be a different story - no matter what the gender. I discriminate against azzholes, not sexual identity.
