Rant! At home gel manicure
I was in Rite Aid and saw a gel manicure at home kit. I thought, cool, i could do my toes and have a pedi that lasts a wicked long time.
What a waste of ten bucks. Color selection wasn't the best, but i found a hot pink I thought I could rock on my toes all summer. You need to apply 3 different things, activator, polish, cleaner, forget it. it streaked, never dried and a day later is not dry, not like it is wet, but i can pick it off, it is mushy. save yourself the 10 bucks and get it done at a nail place. blah.

ugh - do you have to use a UV light for this, or it just air dries?

Re: Rant! At home gel manicure
I bought the gel kit at CVS that came with the light and could not get it off my nails. I soaked in acetone for 30 minutes as suggested but it would not come off. I had to file it off and it has ruined my nails. Leave the gel manicures to the professionals. CVS takes returns on all their beauty producs so at least I was able to get my $ back.

Re: Rant! At home gel manicure
This didn't use light, it was just a pre-coat, an activator, polish and then a 'cleaner'.....it took me an hour to get this mess off tonight, don't bother!!! i wish i had my receipt. what a waste of my time and money!!

I sw that one in Ulta. Glad I didn't bother with it. I had a feeling those at home gel mani's wouldn't work. Thanks for the heads up!
