Let's end this nonsense debate already. The vaccine from Pfizer and Moderna is a two dose vaccine. Period. There is no debating this and if you'd like to argue that fact feel free to head down to CVS to schedule your "third dose" and watch them laugh in your face.
Whether the CEO or Pfizer or anyone else has hinted at boosters/third doses the FACT remains that there is NO. protocol or requirement right now for anything other than the existing two dose vaccine.
Arguing that point is idiotic and quite frankly, wrong. Move on. This is some of the dumbest crap I've ever read on here, trying to argue that the two dose vaccine isn't a two dose vaccine. OMG.
Do you even read posts or you just bull doze through everything? There WAS and IS talk about a 3rd vaccine or booster or shot or whatever you want to call it to take after these 2 shots. There is no denying that. I am not sure what you are getting so upset about. I simply asked if they knew how long these shots will last and no one can give you a straight answer. So no one really knows how long you are protected. Can’t you admit that and doesn’t that even worry you?
You asked if any of us were told "when" we "have" to come back for our third shot... LOL. So, you obviously assumed we needed a third dose. Don't pretend you didn't.

No one answered part of my post but when you got vaccinated, do they tell you when you need to come back for the 3rd dose?
My family members who got it were not told to come back for a 3rd dose, no

Rare but we need to have an emergency meeting
As of today, June 14, 2021, the Pfizer vaccine is a two dose vaccine. There is the chance we will need a booster. Nobody knows when yet, but they do know the vaccine lasts for at least 12 months, thanks to following up with those who participated in the trial last summer. The initial dosage will always be two. What may have to come 12, 18, 24 months down the road will be a booster. I am not worried that they don't know how long past 12 months the initial dosing works. Plenty of vaccines require boosters, I have gotten MMR boosters twice in my adulthood. Flu is each year. It's just part of vaccinations.

Yup because there was actual discussion on the “expiration date” of the vaccine passports. No one has a clue about how long the vaccine will protect you before you need another one or a booster. Will it be 6 months, a year? That doesn’t concern anyone? People who are holding off on the vaccine for more answers get shunned but no one even bats an eye that this is most likely a temporary thing that you don’t know if you are protected anymore after a certain time.

Do you have a link as the last thing I can find is from May 30th saying 6 months?

A year. It's estimated at this point as we close in on the one year mark since clinical trials began that the vaccine is lasting a year. Those answers are exactly why we do mass clinical trials that span years.
Why do you keep asking the same question? Oh I know, because you don't like the answer since it blows up your argument that the vaccine doesn't last so why bother.

Ok, nobody knows.. EXACTLY. So, why would you ask if we we scheduled our third vaccine? Whatever. You're welcome. I'm one of the "sheep" that took the vaccine so you can go about your maskless/gloveless life and talk about those of us who got the vaccine or choose to wear a mask. And IF I need a third vaccine, I'll be there for that too. Don't care if anyone else does, for me it's the right choice. Period. Why do you care what I do or anyone else chooses to do with THEIR body?

I never asked if anyone scheduled a third. Read what I posted. I don’t care what you do. I think it is a legitimate question that people would not be concerned how long it will last and how long you will be protected.

Personally, it doesn't scare me, because they are studying this in the trial subjects, and they were the first to get the vaccine. They already know it ( Pfizer) lasts at least 6 months, and for me, that is October, which is almost a year since they started vaccinating people and longer since the trials. So, they will know before I need to know.
Certain variants not responding to the vaccine does concern me, but they are looking into that & a booster may be needed for that.

As of now, there are very few people getting Covid and very few people who are dying or having dangerous long lasting effects.
You don't know that. I'm not going to debate vaccine's or not. I am actually pro vaccine and my whole family is vaccinated. But nothing about this virus is black and white. Nothing. Everyone's opinions have some shred of validity in them so if you don't like what someone is saying, then move on.
Yes, we do know that.
Can you find numbers of how many people who have come up positive recently have been vaccinated?
The News tends to boast about all the positives of the vaccine. We don't hear about the negatives because they don't want to scare people away from the vaccine, but I feel we should have all the information to make a comfortable decision about receiving it.
I heard (have't verified it) but a cruise ship of all vaccinated people had positive cases not sure if passengers were symptomatic or not.
What are "all the negatives"?
Millions upon millions of people globally have been vaccinated with little to no side effects aside from maybe a sore arm and slight flu like symptoms. MILLIONS.
The vaccine also has a 95% efficacy rate and has certainly curtailed our numbers effectively moving us towards ending this pandemic.
So please, do enlighten us about "all the negative effects" that you and a few others insist exist but have NO basis in fact. Please refrain from spouting off about the random handful or one person here or there that had a response extremely out of the norm because they aren't relevant compared to MILLIONS. Please shown us where MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of people are having adverse, negative reactions to the vaccine so much so that we should all be avoiding it.
I know you can't simply because there is no data which supports the notion that the vaccine is unsafe and harmful.
So show me the data that says there will be no ill effects in the coming years, that it won't effect fertility....you can't because the long term effects are not know. So as long as you are comfortable taking this vaccine please do not assume that I am. Can I die from Covid yes, Could I die from the vaccine yes the difference is that I would have chose to get the vaccine. I don't wake up everyday and sit on my chair because I'm afraid to go out and live in fear that I might die. I live life and thank god for each day that he gives me. As Coumo said today on the news your Vaxed don't worry about those who aren't.
To be fair, if we're trying to compare the two nobody is actually dying from the vaccine BUT countless hundreds of thousands (millions actually) have died from COVID. So there's that to consider.
Also, who are these people sitting in a chair living in fear that so many anti- COVID vaccine people keep telling us about? Last I checked, most everyone is just out there living their lives and they have been for quite some time. I think we're ALL grateful for another day on this earth despite any and all circumstances.
If you don't want the vaccine, cool. I get it. I really do.
But let me ask you -
Are you vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, hepatitis, HPV, or any of the other illnesses we have vaccines for?
Do you take antibiotics when you have an infection?
Do you take cold/flu medicines when you're feeling sick?
Do you take Rx medications as needed when they are prescribed by your doctor even though they might have dangerous side effects as MANY, MANY do?
Every medication and every vaccine was once *brand new* but it didn't mean they weren't effective or even safe in many cases. I get it, you're SCARED of a new vaccine. That's cool too and I can at least respect that. I don't even fault you because I was hesitant at first myself. But at least be honest about that fact instead of trying to paint yourself as someone who is above worrying or caring about COVID and the he-l-l storm is can bring down on many people.
As for the data, as of right NOW there really isn't anything to support the notion that the COVID vaccine is harmful, dangerous or deadly. Anyone can certainly risk it with COVID if they aren't comfortable getting vaccinated but stop pretending like that doesn't make you fearful, you're just scared of one and not the other. In the end, everyone is just trying to get through this pandemic unscathed to the best of their ability.
MMR yes, Hepatitis and HPV no. Only take antibiotics maybe 5 times in my adulthood and no, no cold medicine. I've been working with kids hat throw up on me, snot on me, pink eye etc and I have a very strong immune system
And yes people have died from receiving the vaccine as well as had negative side effects. I have heard from medical professionals working the "front lines" that have seen the truth not all the lies that we are being told. While the virus can cause death I don't believe its at the rate that they report.
And yes all medicine can cause a side effect and how many do we hear if you took.... you may be entitled to money but those were all voluntary I fear that this one will become mandatory and that is what I'm fighting

No one wants to believe that any deaths have occurred because of the vaccine. If so, then they say, well it was only this many to justify it.

Re: Rare but we need to have an emergency meeting
I find it odd that anyone would be so concerned with the very EXTREMELY rare case of death that *may* have stemmed from the vaccine but yet, those same people don't bat an eye at the over one million who were killed by COVID.
There is a greater chance of health complications and/or death from COVID than any of the vaccines. Simple fact.
Get the vaccine, don't get it but the fact is, COVID is the more dangerous of the two.

Re: Rare but we need to have an emergency meeting
But Hofstra of the Millions of people that had Covid what percentage died? and please remember that there were many deaths that were not covid but were labelled covid due to the fact that the hospitals received $$ for all covid related deaths.
You state that the percentage of deaths from the vaccine are low but the number of bad side effects from the vaccine that no one seems to want to acknowledge

Even if the number of deaths were halved (for argument sake), it's still far more deaths attributable to COVID than anything we're seeing from the vaccine.
I don't think anyone is saying that vaccine is without side effects as that would be untrue but certainly what we've seen thus far is mild to moderate reactions after the shot and not much more. That doesn't mean someone couldn't have a really bad or even fatal reaction but when you look at the millions who have been vaccinated to date, we're not seeing high rates of dangerous side effects or even death.
At this point in time it's hard to make the case that the vaccine is deadly or harmful, there is really no concrete data to support that notion. However, we do have data showing the impact that a COVID infection can have on your body and even then, we still have more to learn.
Again, I don't honestly stress over who is vaccinated or not. I made my choice, everyone has to make theirs as well. But there is just too much misunderstanding surrounding the vaccine and I feel that is what contributes to much of the problem when any discussion.

The problem with the vaccine and deaths as whole people are not dying as fast as they might have from the virus, we also don’t know the long term effects that might happen in the future that might cause deaths. With children they don’t know infertility might happen also. This would not be a chance I would take with my young children.

The problem that I have is that when anyone seems to bring up an issue or a potential issue with the vaccine, they are immediately shot down or told they are imagining it, etc. I was even told on here that irregular bleeding I had was probably just because I am starting menopause. Meanwhile, I had an actual condition that was caused by the vaccine and diagnosed by a doctor. It is okay to say, yes there may be potential issues because we do not know and that some people are experiencing meaningful side effects related to the vaccine. It doesn't mean we are discouraging people from getting the vaccine, it doesn't mean we don't support science, it doesn't mean we believe in conspiracy theories. It just means that we would like more transparency with the way things are presented by our politicians, the news media, medical professionals, etc. There is no need to attack someone for asking a question, no need to call someone a smart ass, no need to speak in condescending tones and act like you are better or smarter than anyone else. And it's okay if some people want to post topics and talk about this until the cows come home because that's there prerogative and if you don't want to be part of the discussion just skip over the post in it's entirety and move on.

Short term health issues - So far there aren't any other than a little discomfort after getting vaccinated. As for long term issues, that remains to be seen buuuuuutttttttt.................
Again, I developed thrombocytopenia as a result of the J&J vaccine. While this is not a life threatening condition for me, it was not just a "little discomfort." Also, I never reported it as a side affect of the vaccine although it was, and I don't think that my doctor reported it to anyone either. I am sure there are many others like me who had side effects that are deemed a coincidence or just never reported.
Sorry you dealt with that but it's a reaction that is more rare, certainly not something that would warrant pulling the vaccine and deem it unsafe. You had an unfortunate response, it's to be expected that some will. This is true of any and all meds and other vaccines as well.
I'm currently on a thyroid med where a potential, albeit rare, side effect is drastically reduced WBC. But it's a risk I'm taking because the benefits of the med outweigh the small risk. This is true of most medical intervention including the COVID vaccine. No medicine is a 100% AND everything carries some level of risk.
Yes, I understand that there are risks but saying the ONLY risk is a little discomfort is misleading. There are risks, and we don't know if there are any long term risks because how could we?
You're right. It's not only side effect, it's just the most likely.
Everything has risks but after experiencing COVID firsthand and seeing what it's done to many people I know LONG after they have "gotten better", I'm not taking my chances with it again without medical intervention. For me, COVID is the greater risk, not the vaccine.
But to each his own. I'm thankful to be vaccinated.
Right, whereas I had an extremely mild case of covid and a horrible reaction to the vaccine. Not to mention there was a study released last week that inidcates that the vaccine doesn't offer any additional protection if you've already had covid. Seems like most people missed this news:
People who've had Covid don't need the vaccine
WHAT?!?!?!? U must be joking!!!!!! Natural immunity?!? No way!!!!! Never!!!

Like I said, I feel better being vaccinated. We don't know for sure our own antibodies are enough. If they are, GREAT! But in the meantime, I am thrilled to be vaccinated.
So I will take that as a no, you didn't bother to read the article. Glad it makes you feel better, but it really didn't help you at all.
I did read it. It's a preliminary study with some good news.
But again, I KNEW going in for my vaccine having tested positive for antibodies that I likely would be naturally protected from reinfection. BUT, I didn't want to rely on just that so I was vaccinated anyway.
This is like saying...I got 100 on my math test but I’m gonna take it again, just in case. Hey u do u but like the article that lululu posted, vaccination after getting covid is not needed. Our bodies are indeed not that “flawed” and “imperfect” and their capability to create natural immunity is not that bad after all.
