Re: Rare but we need to have an emergency meeting

Did you read the article? SCIENCE suggests that you don't need the vaccine AT ALL. Not the first shot, not the second. At least not yet. This study was just released last week.
... Scientists are still exploring whether there are benefits to vaccinating people who’ve already had the infection. They’re also examining how natural immunity compares to immunity from vaccination.
Gandhi said that she’s often asked whether previously ill people should get vaccinated. She said that the truth is, there isn’t enough data, and we don’t yet know how long natural immunity lasts.
Her solution: Just get the first dose. Even if it’s unnecessary, that single dose can act as an immune booster. ...
They are still suggesting to get the vaccine, and they don't know if natural immunity is as good as the vaccine, or how long it lasts. So they aren't saying you don't need it AT ALL. They are saying they are looking into that possibility.
Getting the virus is not an good solution, though. We have plenty of documented cases of known long-term side effects of the virus. Including erectile disfunction. Go tell the guys who have ED from the virus, "Hey, at least you survived"....
If you happened to catch covid, and have anti-bodies, that's great. Follow the recommendations and at least get the one shot.
You left out the next line:
“I’m recommending one dose after natural infection, not because of any evidence I can find,” explained Gandhi, “but because of emotion.”
The evidence is suggesting that the vaccine actually provides no additional protection against covid for anyone that was previously infected.

Once again I have said over and over that my decision has not been fully made yet and I could possibly get it in the future. Today, no. Why is this a “sides” thing? My own kid has to get it and is on my side as well as I am on theirs even though I am not happy this was forced and not done when wanted. Many are not going by the science so don’t fool yourself that people know exactly what they are doing.

No, because it's a TWO dose vaccine. Why would they notify anyone of a date for a third dose of a TWO does vaccine? IF boosters are needed, people will be notified. Or it may be an annual vaccine like the flu shot. And they don't know, because it is new -YES it is new, as is this virus. That doesn't make it unsafe. How do you not know that this is a TWO dose vaccine that MAY require a booster some time in the future?

I don’t know any of this and I think everyone should question how long they think it will last. It’s obvious not a magic pill but if places are requiring a vaccine passport, will they deny you after a certain amount of time since you had it? No one seems to question this but are raring to go and run and get it. Another reason I plan to wait as nothing seems to be ironed out. I would rather not be the test subject. Just like many wait until the kinks are taken out of other products, it seems there are some kinks to this too. Only thing is you are messing with your body, your health, not something material.

You don't know that this is a TWO dose vaccine????? Where have you been living???
As time goes on, they will learn how long the vaccine lasts for - it's part of the scientific process. If it's a year, great. If it's more than a year, even better. Of course they couldn't know - it's NEW (No one is debating that it is new). How do you expect scientists to know exactly how long it will last if it hasn't been around for long enough to know? Again, that does not make it unsafe!
And again with the "everyone" and "no one." I don't know who you associate with but everyone I know who got the vaccine was very well informed about it before getting it and made the decision to get it. And we all know YOUR reasons for waiting. You have posted about it hundreds of times on this board. Good for you. Please accept that many people had THEIR reasons for getting it now. YOU are not changing anyone's mind and you are not providing any information that people don't have access to if they choose to do research. If you can't go somewhere because you didn't get the vaccine, that's part of the consequences of your choice. Not saying it's a wrong choice (for you) but all choices have consequences - and THAT was the topic of many other threads on here.

Google is a wonderful thing.
