Raymour and Flannigan Platinum Protection
Has anyone ever put in a claim with them? I have the "extra" warranty on my couches to cover stains, rips, etc... I ripped the couch with my drapes hooks last month. The inspector came out to look at it and just because I have a dog, they are saying it is pet damage (which of course is not covered). It is NOT pet damage. I have 6 other couches/chairs in my house that are not torn up. Who the hell are they to call me a liar, especially when I showed the guy what I ripped it with? How can I fight this?

that's so weird - we haven't filed a claim with them but when we got our couches they told us that as long as we didn't say a pet did it, they would cover it (even if a pet had done it)
i would definitely fight it

Re: Raymour and Flannigan Platinum Protection
Just call them up. We have had them here 2x for our couches. Once for a broken recliner button and once for a seam rip. They usually come in less than a week.

I have had them to my house several times but for scratches & knicks on my wood furniture or a knob not staying on.

Re: Raymour and Flannigan Platinum Protection
this scares me...our couches are a year old and we have a big ripped seam and I just haven't had the time to call them. They better not tell me it is pet damage...i will go ballistic on them.
Coindedentally that same couch does have pet damage --- those little rascals!!! But not this particular seam the needs to be re-sewn.
I would fight them on it and be a pain in the a** about it until you get your way!

Wow- that stinks. I would keep calling them! My leather couch from Macy's ripped and they didnt even send an inspector - they authorized a replacement over the phone!

Re: Raymour and Flannigan Platinum Protection
I would fight that to no end!!!
I had this with Macy's in my first apartment and while my DH and Brother were moving the couch down the stairs it ripped. They came to the house and since they did not make the couch anymore, they gave me a credit for a brand new set.
It's an outside company that offers the protection, so should be the same. I bought my LR couch from Raymour and bought the protection plan again. It was worth it after the Macys thing.
F-that!!! You paid for it, fight it.
