Read Aloud ideas - 4th grade
I know there was recently a post about 1st day read alouds. I'm don't remember if there were many for 4th grade.
I work in a NYC school and this is my 1st yr. in the grade but in the past, I've always done a chapter book read aloud after lunch to quiet things down. I have a couple in mind but was wondering if there were others out there. Here's what I was thinking...
Frindle The Report Card Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing Fourth Grade Fuss Class President
Anyone else do something that really catches the students attention?

you must be reading my mind!
I have done Class President and Tales of a 4th Grade nothing. I am starting the lyear with Frindle this year.
Also, if you like Class President, you will LOVE Class Clown, it's about one of the same kids. Look Johanna Hurwitz- she has about 4-5 books that go together (Same characters)

My favorite read aloud is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Camillo--such a great book!!! I also do Tales of Fourth Grade!

Top Ten Ways To Ruin The First Day Of School ( FY this one is NOT a picture book but the others are.
I just read through It's Back to School we go and it is so interesting. A child from another coutry gives a first person account of what their first day is like and then on the right side there are facts about their school system and traditions. It is such a good book. I got it from Amazon
