Ready to pull my hair out...
...Sometime in September, I mailed in my app for the NYS IVF grant to NSUH. Having heard nothing from them, I followed up early November and was told they would eventually review all applications and get back to everyone after Thanksgiving.
dm24angel (thanks!) then suggested that I schedule an appt, and maybe they would fast track my application.
Went for the new patient appt on the 14th and indicated that I had my application in for the grant. Dr Chu told me to go for day 3 blood work and other tests. Now I am being told I can't proceed with the tests until I am approved for the grant.
The grant coordinator is of course out on vacation, so I have no answers, and my already aging eggs are aging by the minute. This is all sooo frustrating. I feel like I am getting the royal runaround. There is no rhyme or reason to the process of applying for the grant at this clinic.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do next?

Re: Ready to pull my hair out...
I do know that Dr. Scholl is on vacation and he is the one that approves the grants, so unfortunately I dont think anything will make a difference while he is out.
Good luck.

Re: Ready to pull my hair out...
hmmm, who told you you cant have the tests without getting approved?
I had them without being approved, actually I was approved only based on the physical and the day 3 testing, so I know for a fact I wasnt approved yet when I had that done.
I feel your pain cause when the coordinator is out on vacation, then its as slow as molassas there, and she gets VERY distracted when she comes back.
My advice?
Call And ask for a callback from Dr. Chu, tell her that they wouldnt let you have the tests done. Maybe she can help?
I feel bad, i would be losing it too.
It was all done very fast for me, maybe b/c it wasnt end of the year???
If all else fails with trying to talk to Dr. Chu, I would call and ask to speak to an administrator because you feel that no one is helping you.
