REALLY bad diaper rash?

dd had a fever last Thurs/Fri and cut a tooth earlier that week. she never really had diaper rash before, we use desitin and it works great. ff to last week her rash was getting worse, loose stool, ps we ended up in ped office on Memorial day, he gave her 2 antifungal ointments, said it could be a viral thing etc. this a.m. her rash spread and is worse. so i call the ped and she said stop ointments today and switch to caldisene powder only - i feel SO bad - she's so uncomfy and its SO raw red AND i had to come to work did this happen to anyone?

Boo for the diaper rash but YAY for the tooth!

I'm so sorry she has it so bad. My Mom still swears by Caldescene powder. I recently bought some just in case because DD is teething alot. Have you given her tooshie some air without the diaper for a little while? I hope she feels better soon!!!

yep i try to keep her out of the diaper as much as i can - the worst part was Sunday one of her eyes mysteriously swelled - i was in a panic - call ped - he said to give benadryl - by the time i got back from the pharmacy to buy it - her eye was better but then the butt acted up worse i was worried it was an allergic reaction to something but i stopped the solids just for a few days just to give her a break since she wasn't feeling well etc...
