Re: Really good piece written on the state of the world

This is a well written article and quite thought provoking, i am vaccinated but harbor no hate for the un vaxxed now because the data coming in has shown the vaccine isnt reducing spread- only hospitalization and death rates. Covid will be endemic and scientists have said from the start that covid would never really go away, no matter how much China and other countries want to make it so.

What needs to be emphasizes in mainstream media is that the public messaging will always continue to change because the virus always continues to evolve (Thats what viruses do, after all, mutate). Thus, governments are always a step behind whats actually happening on the ground.

IMHO, The reason vaccine mandates are pushed so hard in the US and Europe is purely economical- large employers do NOT want to risk having potential lawsuits on their hands because a worker will die from covid and blame he was infected by some unvaccinated colleague, or workers in 1 dept all get covid at once and have to call in sick and then the company has higher health care premiums to pay, Also, hospitals are saying 90% of their patients are unvaccinated so if more citizens had been inoculated, they wouldnt be there taking up precious ICU beds and nurse resources that shouldbe devoted to trauma victims or anyone who potentially needs care (stroke, appendicitis etc). Its strange the article doesnt focus much on this side of why mandates are still part of policy..its a reality that everyone WILL eventually be exposed to Covid (if not already) or come down with it…the policies in effect now are only to delay people getting it all at once so medical systems dont get overwhelmed (Potentially).

I understand your points but why isn’t the US recognizing that a prior covid infection gives you the same, if not better, protection against covid? It definitely seems like there is a monetary agenda on the part of the government in favor of big pharma.

Yes one hundred percent. When the current vaccines did not play out as promised there wasn’t enough incentive anymore for many people to take the risks of the vaccine for themselves or their children. They had to force people. Get the shot or lose your job, get the shot or you can’t go to school, get the shot or you can’t play sports, get the shot or you can’t go to All-State, get the shot or you can’t eat at a restaurant or go to your gym ... All this for a vaccine that doesn’t prevent you from getting or spreading covid and hasn’t stopped any outbreaks. We were in a way worse situation this Christmas than last with no vaccines then with the fully vaccinated and boostered making up the majority of our community. If they mandate this for k-12 in this state and people go along with it that will be a true tragedy. I can’t believe this is America and no one sees anything wrong with this!

Yep! If the fact that the vaccine doesn't prevent community spread, and yet they are STILL pushing forward with mandating it for many things, doesn't show you they have another agenda, I don't know what to say anymore.
Then we are certainly doomed as a society.

BINGO!!! They stopped using the one anti-viral drug because the pharmacies were not making money on it, plus they wanted everyone to get the vaccine which is the money maker.
There was a special the other day about how certain areas of Africa had low numbers because they were taking that antimalaria medicine.

Just like cancer. They will NEVER "find" a cure because it is too big of a money making illness. They won't approve marijuana for some illnesses and diseases even though in trials they work wonderful for the patient.

Re: Really good piece written on the state of the world

Oh and for those of you that think this is in any way ok - buckle up because it’s far from over. You got your two shots? Great well now you have to get your booster 5 months later...and guess what is coming in March? The omnicron booster (Pfizer just announced).... then by the fall if not sooner get ready for your 4th booster (announced by moderna and Pfizer).... but you will STILL get covid! You will still get sick! And you may even get very sick or have long term covid BUT you will be way worse without it - so we are going to mandate all 5 and counting.....who has tested the cumulative impact on your body of the three vaccines? The four? The five? YOU and your kids will be that test!

ETA: Israel is already giving the 4th booster so if you think this is out of the realm of possible, sry, it’d already happening.

There are people who are perfectly fine with multiple boosters a year though. They don't have an issue with it.
They'd take it everyday like vitamins if they could...
So yeah...

Exactly, don’t you think they know that... isn’t it telling that it doesn’t matter to them at all. Because they will still tell/force people to get it. Doctors will still recommend it to “boost” your immunity. And many people will say “my doctor said I should so I will.

And the fact that you already had it and may have better antibodies then the vaccine can give - will be completely ignored and inconsequential.

Because “they” are impacting my freedom to decide what I put in MY very healthy body and MY children’s very healthy bodies. That’s why. You can choose to get it and take a chance what it will do to you and your kids now and in the future. No one has said there is no risk here.... Those that don’t want it should be able to choose too. That is how THEY impact me.

Well, I tested positive this morning on the home test, then went to a test center for the rapid antigen and it was positive. No lines, thankfully.

Next I have to go for my PCR test, so I can get my “healed” certificate and I think that will be able to be counted as my booster shot. Yay, no needle for me, I think.

Now on to 14 days of quarantine, but I think that might have changed. The info line I called today said it was 14 days, but now I have to wait for the health office to contact me.

It sucks.

I either got it from a restaurant I went to on Wednesday. There were also protests going on in the area at the same time…

I was alerted by an app that I was in close contact with someone. There is a government app you use to check in to restaurants.

No, that doesn't answer my question.. me choosing to get vacinated everyday like it's a vitamin as posted above, has NO IMPACT on you. Me not questioning anything (theoretically, because I do my own research and do NOT take these decisions lightly contrary to popular opinion on this board of anybody who chose to vaccinate) has NO impact on you. Me choosing to vaccinate does NOT mean I support a mandate OR have any impact on a mandate.

I either got it from a restaurant I went to on Wednesday. There were also protests going on in the area at the same time…

I was alerted by an app that I was in close contact with someone. There is a government app you use to check in to restaurants.

Sorry you're sick. Hope it's mild for you.
I do like that your government allows you to use natural infection as a substitute for a vaccine or booster.
Amazing how that's acceptable in other countries but not here.
Why?

Oh and for those of you that think this is in any way ok - buckle up because it’s far from over. You got your two shots? Great well now you have to get your booster 5 months later...and guess what is coming in March? The omnicron booster (Pfizer just announced).... then by the fall if not sooner get ready for your 4th booster (announced by moderna and Pfizer).... but you will STILL get covid! You will still get sick! And you may even get very sick or have long term covid BUT you will be way worse without it - so we are going to mandate all 5 and everyone’s going to go along with it!

There are people who are perfectly fine with multiple boosters a year though. They don't have an issue wit it.
They'd take it everyday like vitamins if they could...
So yeah...

Yup and they won't question a thing.

And how does what "THEY" do impact you again?

Because “they” are impacting my freedom to decide what I put in MY very healthy body and MY children’s very healthy bodies. That’s why. You can choose to get it and take a chance what it will do to you and your kids now and in the future. No one has said there is no risk here.... Those that don’t want it should be able to choose too. That is how THEY impact me.

Where did she say in impacted her? Are we only allowed to comment on things that impact us personally? I comment on plenty of things that don’t impact me personally.

I'm very sorry to hear that. How do you feel? My 14 YO has it now.. =(

I feel ok. I had a headache and scratchy throat on Saturday, and yesterday was better. So good that I cleaned a lot Chat Icon.

Now I just feel like a stuffy nose and an annoying cough and shortness of breath when speaking. Hopefully it stays that way.

Today was busy trying to figure out what I needed to do. What I found interesting was that they have you running around all over to get tests. Luckily, I live in a residential area that borders the countryside, so I could use my car. But most of the places are in the city and you know people are using public transport to get there…

Yep! I just was responding to the person who said- and those of you who are ok with this, you may not be soon because soon the mandate will be booster after booster etc.
And I said- yes but some people wouldn't mind that though, they would get boosters as many times as told to with no issues so that's no threat to them.
I never said it would affect me if they did that one way or the other- I just pointed out to the poster who said that that many people wouldn't care.

Yeah, I think I can use it in place of my booster. The info line told me it was a good idea to get the official certificate because things are constantly changing.

That being said, they are starting to limit it to vaccinated or healed + a test. If you are neither vaccinated nor healed, then a test simply isn’t enough in a lot of places. But “freshly” boostered or healed trumps the test.

I can’t keep up with all the rules anymore.

Yes it’s kind of stupid. If you feel sick, assume it’s COVID and stay home until you feel better. I bet we would have a lot less infections if people just used this common sense logic rather than needing to know for sure that it’s COVID.
Glad you are already feeling better
