Recipe Swap anyone?

I have decided (once again- only this time I'm sticking to it!!!) to cook more. My DH is starting a new full time job in a week and a half and I will be working from home w/ my business. I feel as though I'll have enough time to put together a good meal (nothing fancy) every night (or just about)- but now where to start. Chat Icon
I am a VERY picky eater. Chat Icon I'm not big on salads unless they have apples or pears and walnuts in them, or basically lettuce w/ cheese, carrots, some basic stuff.... and I don't like dressing (except on a ceaser salad once in a while).
I don't know what to make. I feel like when I cook I always make the same stuff- chicken cutlets, or chicken cutlet parm, some sort of pasta dish, chicken and broccoli- or loin of pork or pork cutlets.... I want to incorporate some other stuff too... any ideas? TIA! Chat Icon
I was thinking what if we made a recipe swap thread where I could say I'd like some recipes with- chicken, broccoli, whatever.... and maybe others could post recipes w/ those ingredients or offer other suggestions, kwim? Chat Icon

Re: Recipe Swap anyone?

Sweet & Sour Chicken

-peeled & sliced carrots {I use the bag of already peeled and cut baby carrots}
-red onion - sliced
-red bell pepper, sliced
-green bell pepper, sliced
-yellow bell pepper, sliced
-can of sliced water chestnuts
-boneless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
-jar of sweet & sour sauce/duck sauce
-crunchy lo mein noodles

-slightly brown the chicken chunks in a little bit of oil and transfer into a baking dish along with the vegetables. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink. Pour sauce over chicken and vegetables and cook for an additional 1O minutes or until hot. Serve over rice with crunchy noodles on top....it's DELISH!Chat Icon

Yeah!! I'm so excited to see people want to do this with me!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I was thinking earlier today that I would like some fish recipes. I like flounder, tilapia and striped bass. (Not oily fish Chat Icon )

Should we start a new thread w/ this?
Or have a few diff. threads maybe for seafood/ poultry/vegetarian/beef, etc.....????
Let me know- I just had the idea- but not sure the best way to implement it! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The different threads for each type of meat/fish sounds like a good idea. I'm always looking for new recipes

Re: Recipe Swap anyone?

Ok- I just posted a bunch of new threads w/ different main ingredients or types of meals.
Please add any new ones (or tell me and I will). Some of them I just did as placemarkers, and we may find we don't use all of them- but maybe will will Chat Icon Chat Icon
