Recommend a great vacuum- especially for pet hair!
Ours recently broke and we need to get a new vacuum. We have a dog and her hair is everywhere, I hate it! Looking for a vacuum that is good for that, also DH would rather bagless. Is a Dyson really worth the $$? TIA!

I do not like my dyson. I have very long hair and the dyson does not pick it up. When it does, it immediately jams up the bottom of the vacuum. I also have an electrolux with brushroll technology that has a button to automatically chop the hair around the bottom of the vacuum. I like it a lot.

I have the Shark vacuum (like the Dyson but 1/3 of the price) I love it!!!

I heard the Dyson isn't all it's made out to be. I have an old Kenmore (10 years old) that still works great. I recently bought a Bissel that is for pets and it has an awful suction...my 10 yr old Kenmore works better!

My dad loves his Miele. They have a short hair dog that sheds like a beast and a cat that sheds a lot too. My father has terrible allergies. Prior to this vacuum he had a Kenmore from Sears that we also purchased. The vacuum does great with the hair but the it is terribly heavy, loud and the floor brushes and nossels constantly fall off the hose.

Miele... recently, we were able to trade in our 1996 model for a current one (got $175. towards the purchase of a new one) . It's the Mercedes of vacuums. $$$$ but they pay for themselves in the long run. So lightweight, retractable chord, move soooooo smoothly.

I agree about the Miele. Fantastic vacuum and great for pet hair. My cat sheds like a yeti and it picks up everything easily.

I have the dyson animal and I love it!!! I got it after getting a dog that sheds and it has been wonderful.
Before this I had the dyson slim. Picked up tons of dirt but wasn't wonderful with animal hair.

Recommend a great vacuum- especially for pet hair!
I love that the dyson is lightweight and so easy to maneuver. I have an issue where my hair gets caught and jams the vacuum though so it can be a pain to have to try to pull it out all the time. It seems to pick up the cat hair pretty well.. just not mine!
