Recommend a nice, but afforadable hotel to stay at in Miami...

Going on a cruise next summer, but starting to research places to stay before the cruise, we will be down there 1- 2 days before. I am looking for a clean, safe place, nothing that will break the bank, but nice , safe, bug free... I am bug phobic!I do not mind spending some money , just not 500.00 a night. TIA!

If you don't mind staying a little outside Miami, the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne is gorgeous (we stayed there for our 1st anniversary).

It's probably about 10 miles from the port of miami where the cruise ships are but it's this little island off miami that you have to go over a couple of bridges to get to.

It'll probably be between $200 and $300 a night.

The Loews is really nice, plus the pool is open 24/7.

Last summer we spent two days before a cruise at theSouth Seas Hotel in South Beach. It was an affordable place, good location, clean, nice pool area, on beach, continental breakfast included. Rooms were small but South Beach has many old buildings so that's not unusual. It's very close to the higher priced, well known hotels like the Delano and Loews.
