Recommend a product to use for eczema on the face
Clover gets bad eczema under her chin and neck as well as her face. With the heat it gets really bad. Any recommendations of a product that isn't too pricey?

The doctor said to be careful of aquafor because it is petroleum based and she could get it in her eyes. I think I'll try the aveeno, TY.

Re: Recommend a product to use for eczema on the face
DS has terrible eczema all over including his face. I swear by Aquaphor. It has worked wonders, I cover him in it twice daily. I put it all over his face & have never had a problem. It really cleared his face up.

My ped. dermatologist told me to use Cetaphil cream instead of Aquaphor, it's not as heavy as the Aquaphor and I think it's better in the hot weather.

Re: Recommend a product to use for eczema on the face
DS had eczema all over his cheeks a couple weeks ago. We first covered his cheeks in Aquaphor and then put a thin layer of 0.5% Hydrocortisone. The dose is so low that they don't keep it out on the shelves. I had to ask the pharmacist at Target to get it out from her counter.
Within 2 days, everything cleared up. The only thing to be careful of is if you put too much, it can bleach your skin. Then again, 0.5% is also an extremely low dose. Also, we kept DS out of the sun while we used the hydrocortisone. For the rest of his body where he gets outbreaks, we're using 1.0% on it.
Good luck!

Re: Recommend a product to use for eczema on the face
DS has been battling eczema for a few months now....we tried just about everything before caving in an using the 0.5 hydrocortizone--didn't really want to go that route but it was the ONLY thing that helped. It completely clears it up usually overnight.
He has had maybe one breakout a month and we put it on and it goes right away....our only problem is it keeps coming back and we know we can't use it forever.....for us aquaphor, eucerin, aveeno, etc...did nothing to help
