Recommend swimming lessons

That won't cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

I also have heard Safety Swim is like this, so would like to hear other options.

We are in SS Western Suffolk. Will travel west or east within reason.

DS is 5.

Re: Recommend swimming lessons

Swim America...they have it at World Gym in BayShore. My older boys were 4 and 5 when they went, and they learned to swim in one 8 week session. Actually it was probably 6 weeks, because we missed some, and never made it up! )our fault!

How many times during the week did they go? My 5 yr old HATES the water and I would love to give this a try.

Re: Recommend swimming lessons

Thanks ladies I will check out.

I also got TofB summer schedule but with my schedule I don't think I can make the times but the rates seemed decent.

Re: Recommend swimming lessons

I found that I had the best luck by waiting til the summer and using private swimming instructors using their own pools. I did Safety Swim with my older child but I couldn't take the condition of the place and the water and felt like it was inexperienced kids teaching him. We now use an adult who I find to be more professional and goal oriented. The price works out to be the same per lesson and there isn't the big hassle when you have to reschedule a session. I found my local instructor through networking with other Moms and I am so much happier with the experience.
