Re: Recommend your economy car please...

we have an 06 nissan altima and i love it. great on gas and very roomy. the new models have keyless entry, bluetooth and come in a hybrid version. i soooooooo would've gotten the hybrid if it was available last year! i lease mine and hustled the hell out of the dealer, i pay $200 a month for 3 years (12k miles per year) and got him to throw in the maintenance package and i only put $2k down to cover the fees.

Re: Recommend your economy car please...

I have a honda civic (bought new in '99) and have had no major problems at all! My mom has the same one and also has had no problems.

DH has the Altima and it's nice, but I like my Civic better.

Altima!!!!

dh has one- it really is awesome with gas, drives great, huge trunk, roomy backseat, no blindspots.

i have a sentra and its awesome with gas & for me to get around in, but its very small, and not comfortable for more than 1 or 2 other passengers, and wouldnt been convinient with a baby.. though the trunk is a decent size, i'd definitely choose the altima over it.

Re: Recommend your economy car please...

I am on my second Grand Am (Pontiac) and I wish I could get a brand new 4 door one for when baby comes. I'm not sure if you would call it an economy car but I think it's comparable to some of the other cars mentioned here. I am very happy with them and they are comfortable and pretty nice on the inside.

We bought a 4 door Toyota Yaris 2007 last summer

It was approx. $14,000 minus our trade in

We have 40 highway MPG / 36 MPG regular....I fill the tank on $28 every week and 1/2

Basic car but works well and saves us $$$

I bought a Honda Civic in 2000 and just sold it this year. I never had a problem with it at all. I got a new car because I outgrew it and it was too small for me. Otherwise, it was excellent on gas and I hardly had to put any money into it.

I have a 2000 doge neon, it has 144,000 miles & still gets 33 miles to the gallon. I drive 100 miles a day so MPG is very important to me. It has been a reliable car & its sort of sporty & fun to drive.

Re: Recommend your economy car please...

DH bought a 06 Nissan Sentra for work & loves it. It is a great car on gas! I am not sure of the mileage but I do know my DH only fills up on Wednesday's when he is in NJ. He drives to NYC everyday.....It is very room, a lot of options in a "standard" car.
