I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla. Great on gas and very reliable.

We have a Hyundai Sonata. We needed something bigger than Civic or Accent size and this fits well. The trunk is great (actually has more usable trunk space than our previous SUV) and gas mileage is awesome.
I'd highly recommend Hyundai, Nissan or Toyota. My family and I have had great experiences with all three.

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra and have put 140,000 miles on it so far....runs the same as when it was new and I never, ever had a problem with it. I fill it up 1x a week (small gas tank, only spend about $22.00). The car is cheap, too, only about 10 to 12K

Kath, I would definitely go with the Honda Civic! Awesome car and does not take a lot of gas at all!
