Recommend your Homeowners Insurance!
We are buying a home after living in a co-op (so we only had to have renter's insurance).
If you're thrilled with your Homeowners Insurance, please give them a shout out!
We will be in Central Suffolk, if that matters and not near water.

Recommend your Homeowners Insurance!
We just bought a co-op last month but had to get homeowners insurance... And we used geico. They subcontract out to different companies so they find you the bet rate. Ithey've been a pleasure to deal with and you can do most of it online.

ETA:
errrr.. I've had them for over a decade.. can't beat the price. but I left NY before Sandy so I'm not sure about location anymore. I brought them with me to TX of course! LOL

Recommend your Homeowners Insurance!
We had Allstate and priced out Geico and State Farm and State Farm gave us the best price and better coverage. We used the Lynne Barnhardt office in Smithtown and worked with Nicole. She is fantastic! Their office number is (631) 265-5030.

Recommend your Homeowners Insurance!
Interboro sells homeowners on Long Island, around for 100 years...
We had state farm and they were good when our pipe broke, not sure if they still write Long Island.

I also recommend Jen.
State Farm dropped us the year after Sandy, saying we were in a catastrophe zone.
We have Narraganset now, thanks to Jen.
She was also very patient with us because all of this happened in the middle of starting renovations, and the new company wanted to drop us if we didn't put a new roof on by a certain date.....
She was so helpful because she helped with us being able to get an extension on the deadline so we could deal with the town, start what needed to be done before the roof and get the work done the right way.

I used Interboro until sandy. After Sandy they jacked our rates up even though we had no damage and had never filed a claim. They were penalizing us for other losses they had

I would be happy to run some quotes for you. Whats cheap for one person could be expensive for you and vice versa. You really have to just shop it.
