recommend your newborn toys
My is only 5 weeks old but I feel like I need something for her to look at while she's awake besides my big face. What can I get that will entertain her a little?

Do you put her on the activity mat? DD loves the lights and music and toys hanging all around. At 5w, not much else seemed to entertain DD, but I would shake different rattles for her and she seemed to like that.

DD is 8 weeks and she really loves looking in mirrors. We have one that's on her changing table and she loves it. She also is a fan of Lamaze toys. I have Olivia the Owl and Freddie the Firefly that I hold up for her while we are sitting together. I've been doing this since she was at least3 weeks and just recently she has really noticed them. She coos and smiles now at the bright colors.

She usually cries when I put her on the activity mat. She's already one of those attention lovers & wants to be held a lot or sitting up looking around. I'll have to try some mirror toys & see if they amuse her, thanks!

At five weeks, I think all I needed to entertain DD was my boob, lol.
Seriously though, the activity mat was great at about 2 months.

DD likes the Lamaze toys - we have a peacock (or a turkey not sure what it is) and Eddie the Elephant, she also likes Octotunes by Baby Einstein but pretty much the Lamaze toys are a hit with her. Going to buy more this weekend.

His faves forever are the Bright Starts elephant, the octopus that came with the baby einstein play mat and a mickey doll that is one like the head attached to a small blanket.
