Recommend your pots and pans
We have Calaphon non-stick on our registry, but my shower has come and gone and no one bought them for us.
Just wondering if its worth the $400 or if we should get something a little bit cheaper. If they are worth it, I dont mind spending the money since they will definitely be used.
I am open to any suggestions!

We have the Emeril stainless steel set from BBB. I love it! I added a nonstick small calphalon green pan and a large too for certain items ie: pancakes etc. It was resonalbly priced, it's made by all-clad too which was a plus

Exact same for us!
ETA-The Emeril 10pc set was only $199 as opposed to the other more expensive brands.

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
Ugg, do NOT get the Calphalon! I was bought a 600 dollar set for my bridal shower, and everyone swore I'd have these pots and pans forever. PS, less than 4 years later, all of the non-stick tephlon has peeled off and I treat them very gently. I'm so upset over them because now I have to buy allllll new pots and pans Hmm, so I guess this is a good thread for me to read

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
I have Farberware pots and pans...have had them for over 6 years and they are like brand new. I have never read anything good about non-stick cookware and my pots/pans still look like new....My MIL has Farberware that is 20+ years old so that's proof enough for me.

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
I have a Revereware set that is about 8 years old and still in great shape. When I got married 4 years ago, I registered for Farberware, to fill in what I thought I needed, or wanted. My mom had Farberware for many, many years. IMO, both sets are great and are much more reasonably priced than the expensive sets.
People have told me that they think the pricier sets are better, they notice a difference with them, yadda, yadda, yadda....I am no gourmet cook, but I would recommend Farberware, they work well for us. I also have a nonstick set of 3 frying pans I got at Costco. I don't spend a lot on the nonstick pans, since they don't seem to last as long.

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
I recently got the latest issue of Cooks ILlustrated- in the issue was a review of pots and pans and surprisingly there is a set from Walmart that tested JUST as good as All Clad- All clad edged them out- and the best thing is the price- $147 for the set!
It's called Tramontina.
Here's the link for the review...

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
We have Emerilware by All-Clad - about $200 in Macy's. I also got two non-stick pans from Calpahlon for eggs and omelettes and such. I have no complaints - I use them every day.
I also hand-wash my pots even though they're dishwasher-safe (I heard somewhere that hand-washing prolongs their life).

Thanks for all the responses girls! My mom had suggested Farberware and Revereware to me too. I think I am going to look into these as well.

Ditto, I love love love my Emeril Stainless Steel (and I was an avid Non-Stick gal). Emeril is great quality for the price. Can't go wrong.

I hate mine too - mine haven't peeled, but they are so heavy. It's very cumbersome when a pot if full or if you are boiling water.

I have the Circulon 2 set and I love them. I wanted something non-stick, not too heavy and not too expensive.

Re: Recommend your pots and pans
I have Farberware pots and pans-the Millenium edition and I hate them. They never seem to get clean no matter how much I clean them. I registerd for them because my mom has had farberware since she got married 30 years ago but she has the traditional kind. I would stick with the traditional kind if you are going to get farberware.
