Red Oil burner "light" switch question
Does anyone know if you flip this switch if it effects the wall thermostat? Does it just cut off power to the burner or can it also reset your wall thermostat?

Re: Red Oil burner "light" switch question
if you cut power to your oil burner and you have a programmable thermostat most likely it has a battery backup and you won't lose any of your settings.

Re: Red Oil burner "light" switch question
all it does is turn off the oil burner if you have an emergency. It doesn't affect the thermostat...

Re: Red Oil burner "light" switch question
Turning of the Emergency switch will kill all electric to your heating system including the thermostat. If you have a programmable thermostat then you may still see a digital output on the display as most have a battery back up. I know this because I had my burner serviced last week and we talked about this same thing. HTH!
