Re: Red Wine Drinkers
I heard that after red wine is opened, it should be chilled, is that true of all wines or just the ones already mentioned?

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
There is only one red that I like chilled, and that is Lambrusco.
Otherwise I prefer my reds room temp. But its just personal preference

I am wondering this too...what reds should be chilled after opened?
How long can wine be good after being opened?

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
Beujolais & Beajoulais Nouvea should be chilled. You caneven put ice in tehm, if you want. They are light & fruity & are great for sangria.
We re-cork our red wines & leave them on the counter, unless they are ones we drink cold.
How long does wine keep?
Which wines to chill?

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
I just watched a lecture on this topic last week. For a long time they said red should only be served at room temperature, but now some experts think that slightly above room temp produces more flavor. A lot of them suggest just putting an ice cube in your glass to chill it to the "appropriate" temp.

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
Red wines should be kept at the same temp a wine cellar would be. It is usually a bit cooler than room temp.

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
I prefer mine at room temperature. Joe and I were surprised when many places in Italy served their red wines chilled. I guess there's no 'wrong' way. Certain reds definitely taste better chilled. Cabernet, merlot, shiraz, chianti -- better room temperature IMO.

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
I'd prefer to have red wine chilled but I normally drink it at room temp. I just like cold wine.

Re: Red Wine Drinkers
I chill white wine, but reds at room temp or a little cooler like from a wine cellar or in my basement where I keep them.
