Refusing Milk @ 19 mos

DS has been off the bottle since Feb. His milk intake went down but he was still drinking enough. Lately he barely drinks any. I've tried chocolate/strawberry syrup, Nesquick, Vanilla Soy Milk and nothing! He used to always drink his afternoon milk at daycare but now that he is in the toddler room they no longer warm it up. I don't know what to do anymore. He does eat cheese/yogurt daily and will drink OJ w/ extra calcium.

Also he will only drink from the Nuby soft spout sippys which drive me insane cause they leak!!!

I would make sure you are supplementing his diet with vitamins that have extra calcium. You could also try calcium-fortified OJ.

I would ask your pediatrician what he recommends....

DS did this too. We got him to finally drink the Horizon chocolate milk (individual drink box) and then we started changing it up with Vanilla and now regular too Chat Icon

I swear DS is doing this because of his 2 year molars emerging. He actually drinks it, swishes it around his mouth and then lets it dribble down his chin onto his chest. If it's not the molars, then I guess it's the age. Chat Icon

Thanks Ladies!
I just bought some vanilla syrup at the grocery store. So we are going to try that and my next step is going to be the Horizon Milk Boxes even though they are not whole milk.

My DS was terrible with drinking milk -- he still isn't great but he eats cheese and ypgurt every day so I try not to stress it to much. He does drink 1 cup of milk a day.

We tried everything.....vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, flavored horizon milks etc.
Finally, I tried ovaltine and DS loves it!! He drinks one cup of ovaltine in the morning and then probably another 1/2 cup of plain milk after that.
