Refusing solids?
DD was LOVING the oatmeal. Then I started trying sweet potatoes and she wasn't really thrilled. I tried that for like a week and could get her to eat them, but she wasnt really ever pleased with it.
She is refusing to even eat the oatmeal now. I tried applesauce and she spit it right out.
She has even been a PITA about her bottles lately unless she is REALLY hungry.
Should I be forcing the issue? I am getting frustrated.
She totally knows how to open her mouth and eat the stuff, and she doesnt gag at all so I know it's not that she is not ready (she'll be 6 months on th 23rd).
Any advice?

Re: Refusing solids?
maybe shes teething jenn? my dd is a great eater, and terrible drinker, and but i noticed right before her first two teeth came in last week that she was giving us a hard time with eating AND drinking.. maybe give her a day or two off, and then revisit it

Re: Refusing solids?
My DD refused solids at first too. I tried forcing it a couple of times, but it was too frustrating for both of us. I ended up laying off for a couple of weeks & starting again when she was 7 months & she was fine then.
Also, I agree with the above poster that it may be teething related.

Re: Refusing solids?
The same thing happened with Reilly last month. For 2.5 weeks she was on a hunger strike (as I called it). She was always an awesome eater but at that point she hardly drank her bottles and cried thru her solids. It was a nightmare. She already had 2 teeth on the bottom so I was at a loss. But, low and behold, one day she woke up and 4 teeth had broken thru at the same time on top! Even though I didn't realize she was hard core teething (she always chops on everything and is a olympic drooler) I was so relieved when those teeth broke thru. Now she is my happy baby again and eats like a champ!! I hope the same is true for you. I offered her every meal, and she ate what she wanted. I figured if she was hungry, she'd eat.
