Remedy for yellow stains - white shirts??
A co-worker of mine mentioned that she loves to wear white shirts but will get a slight yellow-ish color under her arms after a few wears.
I have not experienced this problem myself nor do I even wear white that often because I'm so darn pale but I remember (I *think*) seeing a "remedy" for this on here. I told her I would check it out for her! I tried doing a search and nada. Does anyone know of this or remember it being posted on here? I hope I'm not losing it - I swear I read it on here.
I see her again on Thursday. TIA!

Tell her to try putting the shirt in the sun to dry.
My DD does this with the cloth diapers and it works like a charm.

tell her to use Oxiclean when she washed her clothes....it will help get rid of the stains. She can even make a mixture of it and spray it under the arms before washing

My grandmother also used to use something called brown soap. It's a bar of brown washing soap that she would rub on the white t-shirts. they always looked good. I doubt they have it anymore, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Re: Remedy for yellow stains - white shirts??
oxi-clean, works great! its safe for colors too. we went fishing last week and DH got blood from the fish all over a good t-shirt. he threw it in the wash and dryer on his own without treating it. (its a colored shirt) I used oxi-clean this weekend on it and it all came out!!! I took about 1/4 cup of the powder, dissolved it in a little hot water to make it like a paste, smeared it all over the set in blood, let it sit on shirt over night, the next day i threw it in and washed it, it was all gone!! I have also found it works great on grease.
But to answer your question, she can soak the white shirts in some hot water and the oxi-clean for awhile, then wash as usual, should come out. the product works best in hot water, but if she can't use hot water, do the paste thing.

Perfect! Thank you!
And thanks everyone - I'm printing this thread and the wiki page out and giving it to her on Thursday.
