I'm sorry - I REALLY, REALLY think you need to talk to her parents about this right away. You should let them know that she has been asking to babysit, that she emailed your husband, and that you're sorry but you're children are too young, etc.

While it seems innocent, you do NOT want to get caught up in something uncomfortable. I know it's cute to an extent, but it can get ugly - FAST.

The parents need to know that she has left a note and sent an email from the mom's email address -- I would ask if they are aware she did that. Just to be safe.

unfortunately in this day and age, you have to be super careful with even little crushes. how old is she ?

my sis and I had a big girlie crush on our neighbor growing up (we were like 12 or so - he was a good ten years older) we'd ask him to make a muscle almost every time we saw him and we'd grab his arm and oooh and ahhhh over it (patsbrat-shutup ) he'd love the crowd of little 12yr olds thinking he was so cool with his Harley and Corvette, and we even adored his girlfriend, so there were no hard feelings

too bad the world has changed and things are so different now
