Six years later, it still feels like yesterday.
Remembering all those innocent people who lost their lives.
I totally agree it feels like yesterday, just the thought gives me the chills.

Re: Remembering 9-11
It's hard to believe 6 years have passed. I too worked nearby and will never forget the emotions of that day, nor the smells, sights, and sorrow that followed long after!

Re: Remembering 9-11
I didn't get in today until 9am, instead of my usual 7:30am because this day reminded me to STOP rushing, STOP thinking about everything else, other than what is truly important - sitting at home on our couch, reading a book and laughing with my daughter. The very little girl who would have never been born had it not been for 9/11. I tried to cherish and soak in every little moment, hug her a little tighter, and remember and appreciate all the lives that were lost and touched because of that tragedy.

Re: Remembering 9-11
I remember parking in the train station in Massapequa the following thursday night and there were all these cars still parked there from Tuesday. These cars who's owners were lost and would never be home again. I was a total mess!

Re: Remembering 9-11
Today is a day that will always weigh heavy on all of our hearts.
Today and every day we should continue to keep those that lost their lives and their families in our prayers.
To those who lost someone and to the rest of us who lost a little piece of ourselves.

Re: Remembering 9-11
Posted by MrsMessina I feel like a part of me died that day and I've never regained it. I look at my neice and nephews and think what a different world it is than when I was growing up.
I couldn't have said it better myself. This is exactly how I feel.

My DH worked in 2 World Trade and still suffers from PTSS. We have many friends who are FDNY and are now sick and I can't helpo but just be angry! This is always a dfficult day!
All I kept hoping was that these babies would not be born today! I feel awful saying it, but it was/is my greatest fear!

I remember thinking the same thing. At the time, I was going from Huntington. I remember that when I finally got home that night, when I pulled into the driveway my father was standing outside pacing. And when he saw me pull up he ran to the car and hugged me and started crying.

Re: Remembering 9-11
I remember driving into work, and WBAB made an announcement that a passenger plane hit the WTC and not a big deal was made of it. When I got into work, the 2nd plane hit and then we all turned on the news and sat in shock.....I then went to the window and watched the NYC skyline change forever. So surreal and unexplainable. My friend lost her father, all she has is his watch, nothing else was found. So heartbreaking and unforgettable.
My thoughts and prayers to all who lost their lives, NYPD, NYFD, and everyone else directly or indirectly affected.
