Replacing birth certificate "canada" Update Not Good Enough
How do you go about replacing a BC for those not born in the US?
Update:
The reason I needed a replacement BC. My car was broken into and everything was stolen expect for a few items... All my important papers like BC, proof that I am a US citizen and Passport are history... Anyways thanks for the info on how I can get a replacment BC and I got it a few weeks ago...Turns out it's not good enough for these people in AR... I need to show them proof that I'm a citizen of the US in order to get a license so I can drive in this damn state.. Now in the mean time my NY drivers license is now expired.. What am I to do...

I did a quick Google search and it seems you have to contact the Vital Stats Office for the providence the person was born.
here's a link to this info for each providence/territory

You need to get a replacement naturalization certificate -- you can request one from immigration, but it's not cheap.
The form is an N-565 -- Application for Replacement of Naturalization/Citizenship Document
Fee: $345

Unfortunately immigration upped their fees again recently -- the sooner you get it the better.
I hope you have as much info as possible pertaining to your naturalization, it helps speed the process of the application. (eg -- A number, dates when you were naturalized, office where you filed paperwork ,etc.)

Re: Replacing birth certificate "canada" Update Not Good Enough
did you ever make copies of your docs? that could help. i know i'm in the process of filing for a green card and my dad is an immigration lawyer so he keeps like 8 copies of everything for me....
but yes when I was most recently at the border someone came in to replace a document and the prices have gone up. its costly
either way, your best bet may be to find a helpline number, call and explain your situation and go with what they tell you to do

oh man...well my next best advice is to call the helpline for immigration services
and lesson for the future, ALWAYS keep a copy of important documents somewhere in your house!
