Replacing radiators with baseboard heat?
Anyone ever have this done? Our house is about 60 years old with a 20 year old extension. The older part of the house has radiators and they are very inefficient. The temperature is often too cold and the pipes near the radiators bang LOUDLY.
We had a plumber at our house today (other issues) but he said that a baseboard conversion was the best route. We probably have about 1500 square feet (3 beds and a living room) to convert. Any info on what this would approximately cost would be helpful.
Thanks!

We actually did this. I think our radiators worked better. It shouldn't be too expensive because you shouldn't have to replace the pipes, just the radiators themselves. We got the high output radiators. They cost more but are supposed to be more efficient.
