Repost from LIW..need advice about credit card
So I used a macy's charge to purchase something and I somehow must have forgot. However I was never billed, never called and than finally after 63 days was informed that I am 63 days past due on the account..which they have already reported to the credit bureau. I'm sooo P I S S E D because before this my credit was perfect (above 800!!!) Do you think there is anything i can do? Macy's wouldn't resolve anything..they took off one late charge and that was it..but I never received any god da mn bills!!!!! It really pisses me off that they can just do this..

Macy's is terrible about their credit cards...they did the same thing to me a few years ago and they put me into some collections thing after being 1 day late!!! I was livid to say the least but I argued with them...and they fixed it...you can put in a dispute with the credi bureau but I don't know if it will help at all

OMG they tried to pull the same crap with me a few months ago. I fought them on it and they removed it from my report. Fight them on it!

how did you do it? I became irrate on the phone..I even used a few choiced words (I shouldn't have) but they refused to do anything but take 1 late charge off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke with someone from customer service and they were really great. She went to a supervisor and they took it off. They were able to see that a bill was not generated. How I have no idea. That was this last time. A few years ago they put something negative on my report. It was not true. I ran my credit and i disputed it with equifax. I got a letter in the mail stating that they removed the negative strike and ruled in my favor.

thanks! the only problem is that when I talked to them they said they sent 2 bills! But thats great because I never received them! the only bill I got was when it was 63 days past due!! maybe I need to speak with someone higher up then.

Something similar happened to me. I have only used my Macy's card one time to purchase furniture which was suppose to be credit free for sixth months. Somehow they started charging me immediately following the purchase. Bills were sent to my parents house (I live about 3 hours away), but seeing as how I never charged anything, I was not concerned. Needless to say, they too reported me and I was livid. I got it cleared up and then a month later they called again and said I owed them money. Finally after that it was cleared up and I got them to remove it from my credit report.

i would call, call, call. something similar happened to me with Kohls and it almost cost us our mortgage. I didnt know about it until they pulled our credit scores right before closing and because of the late charge, my credit score dropped like 80 points disqualifying us for our mortgage. It was one of the most stressful times in my life. Luckily, they rectified it for me and my credit was fixed....
I was persistant. They did not want to resolve it but I would take no for an answer. Call them and keep asking to speak with someone higher. If they do not notifiy you that you need to pay, how would you know?

I canceled my Macy's card for that exact reason. I don't remember exactly what happened, but apparently their credit card and some other credit were separate and I knew I charged so I paid it to the address on my MACY"S bill well apparently that isn't the address the other 'credit' (can't remember exactly what it was) payments go to and they sent me a late notice. I called and argued, the guy said "oh well I see you made a payment to your macy's card" i said "that's what this is, he said "oh no , this is your macy's visa and you paid the wrong account" Mind you, I had ONE CARD And ONE account#. I closed it immediately.

You can write a letter to them and state that you've been a great Macy's customer for ___ years and you are asking for their good will to remove the past-due notes from your account and also to do the same for your credit reports.
Someone on LIW told me to do it a few months back bc I had 1 late payment to 2 credit card companies dating back over 4 years. Guess what....the letters worked and they removed it from my credit report.

Kristin- Its the letter I sent you on LIweddings- you send it to Macys & cc the three credit bureaus

Kristin- Its the letter I sent you on LIweddings- you send it to Macys & cc the three credit bureaus
