McCain is blaming Obama's "failed" leadership for the demise.
wasnt it the republican votes that rejected the plan?
EXACTLY!!! Another reason I can't stand McCain!!
yes - he is the right person to blame for all of this

Re: Republican leaders are blaming Pelosi for the demise
but let's be honest, aren't they all!! That is why the american public is so disillusioned with the political process and instead of voting for a certain person, they are voting against another.

Re: Republican leaders are blaming Pelosi for the demise
Thank you, obviously that got lost in translation. Never said I was blaming him for the failure, but its pretty ballsy of him right now to point the blame on others (like Obama) for his own gains.
and I think stating that the American Public is dillusional about the process was out of line. Its all a blame game, but trust me, I'm not "dillusional" and I'm voting on the issues at stake.

in the choice between bread and freedom, main street choose freedom
paraphrased comment made by Thaddeus McCootter..
does he really think that people would rather starve than have more regulations on banking practices???
and worse yet...do PEOPLE on main street really think that way!

People in Philadephia do! Okay, not everyone, but there was an anti-bailout protest there Saturday. It wasn't huge, (but it was loud) and it seemed to get a lot of ssupport for passers by, yet I hadn't really heard the anti-bailout sentiment (from non-politicians) much before that, so I was kind of surprised by it.

Sorry, I had to laugh because right now I am going to cry for all of the uneducated in this country that don't get that this bailout is a no choice one and without it we are cooked...

Pelosi needs to shut her hole IMO.
Great time to bash the administration.

Re: Republican leaders are blaming Pelosi for the demise
I guess the suspension of the McCain campaign was all for naught.
he dedicated ALL of this time to it, and hardly got anything.
Obama got more of his constituency by just "phoning it in"
methinks the republicans hate each other.

I don't think it's a secret the administration sucks.
I mean, the repubs voted AGAINST their president.
everything she said was accurate.
suck it up and do the right thing.

I think it was the speech she gave at the end the PP meant when she bashed the administration and then repubs. wouldn't vote. She should have just saved until after the vote was taken and then bash away.

I know. I listened to it.
I think she was trying to drive home the gravity of the situation as well as making the argument for more oversight.
cutting off your nose to spite your face is ridiculous.

Yeah but Pelosi opens her mouth way too much. There is a time and place for everything.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of those Republicans voted no was just to spite Pelosi.

Re: Republican leaders are blaming Pelosi for the demise
Wow I just heard what the Minority Leader had to say about Pelosi and the Bail out bill not passing, and its insane that he is stadning up their blaming the Dem for being too partisan when everythign he said was partisan!! RIDICULOUS, he even says at he end, remember we are the minority here, who the hel l cares jsut get int done.
Its horrible that all these politicians Dems & Reps are concerned about is their own azz, instead of worrying about all americans keeping their jobs, they are concerned about the next time they are up for election, and how it will look!!

Very true - no one wants to be alone in passing this b/c if it goes down in flames, they don't want to be the ones to blame.

Re: Republican leaders are blaming Pelosi for the demise
Both sides were stupid and cutting off their noses to spite their face. Honestly, both sides were just dead wrong. They all needed to really think about the trtemendous power we have entrusted to them.
The republicans were wrong in voting nay to spite Pelosi. I just listened to the speech Pelosi made prior to vote saying that the republican party is dead. Really not the time to be spewing out political rhetoric. She was wrong as well, you have to pick your time and place.
Unless, she is just a political genius, who did it to blame the republicans. I am so dissapointed in both parties that I would not put anything past either one. We really need to get passed this us vs. them mentally.
