Restaurant food portions - just take out or not?

DH and I are "regular" take out people.

Just because with a 13 month boy, we just can't do the busy Applebee's or Chili's on Friday or Saturday nights.

Well, we got a burger order a couple of weeks ago from Applebee's and OMG... the burgers were the size of a small burger at McDonald's.

We paid almost $20 for 2 tiny burgers (like you get at fast food) and a small handle of fries.

We were so disappointed that we decided we would fix our own burger from now on.

I know the economy is bad but that was ridiculous.

Did anyone notice the same thing happen or is it just take out (which we always get less fries than if we eat in already!!!)?

wow! I haven't noticed this mainly because we haven't eaten out in months .. but I do remember that applebees plates were always "smaller" in comparision to other chains.

I haven't had that happen. They may be a little skimpier with the fries but nothing crazy.

I havent been to Applebees in a while but I recently noticed that the portions at TGIFridays are so small. I know they advertise right portions or something, but it is seriously small and the price is higher then it used to be.
