Restaurant in NYC, please recommend
DH and I are going to spend a night in NYC for our anniversary in July and I want to make reservations for dinner. We are big foodies and LOVE watching shows like Top Chef. Please recommend a good restaurant.
We are staying in Times Square but the restaurant doesn't have to be there. We are thinking of Craft.

What price range are you thinking? There's Daniel and Le Bernadin and those type of places if you want to go really high end... If you want something more reasonable and dont mind heading downtown, Lupa is AMAZING.

Craft is a great restaurant. I love their side dishes, like potatoes au gratin or fingerling potatoes, risotto.
Union Square Cafe is great!
Gotham Bar & Grill, Excellent!

I asked if you were looking for steak because I love STK, they have a little of everything though...
Also Abe and Arthurs is supposed to be great...

My husband often goes to steakhouses with work, so something different.
We are looking for expensive but not over the top. Le Bernadin I have always wanted to try, but it is very pricey.
Anyone do any tasting menus anywhere?

if price is not an issue I would pick your exact list in reverse order, so starting with per se, then le bernadin etc. Per Se is supposed to be amazing, but I can't afford it. I'm dying to try it though.

Alfredos of Rome is amazing but my favorite would have to be Philippe by far hands down and your bound to catch a celebrity sighting

Great suggestions, if you want to go all out, Per Se, it's beyond  though...
Also morimoto is great if you like sushi/japanese

hands down, if I were going to spend the money, Le Bernadin.
my friends dad is friends with Eric Ripert and she has had the pleasure. they are french and french food snobs and she said there is nothing better...so I take her word
