Restaurant Recs in London & Paris?

We are going in a few weeks and am looking for some nice places to have dinner. I have been to both before but always when I was broke! Chat Icon

Good, if that's possible! Just kidding! Everyone talks about how awful the food is. This will be my 3rd time there and I never had an issue. Anything except Indian bc DH won't eat it. Thanks!Chat Icon

I agree with this. TONS of great restaurants in London. Will do a bit thinking and get back to you with some names.

My sister and I loved the Giraffe Restaurant when we visited London. This isn't a fancy place, but the food is great! I think they have several locations.

We ate at the Jules Verne in the Effiel Tower -- It was pricey but the view was worth it IMO

I love Giraffe! Such a cute place. We tried to convince the owner of the one in Battersea/Clapham to open one in nycChat Icon

This really surprises me! We have a Giraffe here and its a super cheesy chain restaurant! I've been a few times and imo its nothing special.

I love Wagamammas, there are a few in London they do great noodles! In general, stay away from most of the chains. The chinese food is excellent, you won't get "American" Chinese food, you will get Hong Kong Style chinese food. Different, but amazing.

Re: Restaurant Recs in London & Paris?

At the recommendation of the Concerige at our hotel on our Honeymoon, we went to the below restaurant. It's London's Oldest Restaurant, in Convent Garden. The food and service was amazing (and PRICEY!), but worth it.

Rules

ETA: It's traditional British Food.

In Paris, I like to take the City of Light Tour -- it includes dinner at Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower (and no wait to go up), a cruise on the Seine, and then a Can-Can show at Le Moulin Rouge.

I also love itty-bitty bistros that just kind of call to you with the smells coming out the door. Mom and pop places.

There is also a great restaurant near The Opera, I will get back to you with the name.

Re: Restaurant Recs in London & Paris?

In Paris you MUST do the "bateau mouche". It's a romantic boat cruise on the Seine river. I can't remember if they do it in the winter.

For restaurant, the "Fouquet" is THE most famous restaurant in Paris. It's $$$$ but not as must as the "tour D'argent" which is THE most expensive restaurant.

For steack/fries, all "brasseries" have that. It's not a special meal. That's what people eat for lunch.Chat Icon
