Restaurants where you found THINGS in the food .... (do not eat at Minado)

Yesterday there was a WORM in the food of a coworker. The manager took forever to come over and apologize (at Minado over in carle place). We all got up and left. It was disgusting!

What did you find in your food and what restaurant was it at?

i live in carle place and had that on my list of restaurants to still try

EWWWW! I've only eaten there once, and now I'm out of state. Good to know.

I found a roach in a salad from "Everything Yogurt and Salad cafe" at Roosevelt Field. Of course I found it at the END of my meal.

Also found a large moth in a salad at Valley Caterers in Franklin Square.

I have no luck with salads.

worm in filet of sole (apparently, it was a parasite; common in certain types of fish during certain times of the year)

roach egg in chinese fried rice

baby roach in chinese fried rice

entire crisp fried fly in my crepe at IHOP

i could go on and on, but i've just made myself sick to my stomach

I work in the restaurant repair business you would be surprised at how many swanky places have the MOST disgusting kitchens.

Last weekend at the golden coach dinner in Huntington there was a CLUMP (not strand) of hair in my western omelette. I had already eaten 1/2 of it when I found it.

I don't know why I am so attracted to read posts like these. I do all the time and all the time I get sick.

My cousins SWEAR by Minados and dragged my husband and I there. As soon as I heard the words Sushi Buffett my stomach turned. DH was my daring her grabbed some spicy tuna and spit it out....
we didn't eat anything

Yuck that is pretty gross. I had my shower there and had no problems, but this skeeved me and I probably would not go back.

I only read the first two replies but I don't think I read any more. Ewwww.

There was a small roach in the box of napkins that came with our Chinese delivery at work.

I found a long black curly hair midway into my burger at a Red Robin restaurant in Minnesota. The manager promptly came over and took it away, made me a new meal for free, took $20 off our tab and gave us dessert. I was just expecting a free meal.

I don't know what possess me to read these posts as I gag.

DH is in the food industry & has told me some stories...Hence I NEVER eat a salad at a diner unless my DH has been in their kitchen....

A green grasshopper type of bug at the bottom of the salad I ate from my job's cafeteria. And, I work in a HOSPITAL!

A worm in my Caesar Salad at Planet Hollywood in NYC....All they offered me to compensate was a free glass of wine!

They were really rude about it...like I put it there

my co worker went to a K & W Cafeteria( in NC) for dinner one night...she bit into some kind of vegetable (i forget which one), but it had been deep fried, and there was a NAIL...one that you would hammer into a wall..in her veggie....it cracker her tooth and everything
The manager didn't even know what to say to her...they didn't offer to pay for her meal...but she is handling it with corporate....
SCARY!!!

my uncle bit into a piece of a 6ft hero they got from some place in SI and there was an effing used band aid in it. he almost dropped dead.

wen I worked in Haagen Dazs, they were doing construction and we had a "small" mouse problem...anyway, every morning I cleaned out the belgian milk/dark chocolate containers (you know, the stuff they cover the ice cream bars with) and a mouse had fallen in and DROWNED. it was freaking GROSS


I get that they are everywhere...I get that it's food...just keep it OFF my plate.

During the course of the same meal at Simply Thai in RVC, DH found a gigantic staple at the bottom of his noodles and I found an industrial-sized rubber band in my curry.

Did they cook our meals in the office part of the restaurant??

OMG.........These stories are utterly disgusting. Then everyone wonders why I hate eating out. Like one poster said.......there's nothing like eating in your own home.

But I gotta admit.........reading a thread like this is a great kick-start to a diet!!!

Found a few hairs in the chicken finger appetizer at

Grand Luxe.

I got grossed out and will not go back there.

I have found a few hairs (long too, ill) in a few salads in different places.

I still eat salads out by they do concern me.
