Wow!
I wonder how he sees the world now. The funny thing is - he is SO observant - he always seems to notice everything!!! I just read him a night time story and there was a tiny C on the page and he saw it ( he knows Cailen starts with C) - when I see him do things like this I don't get how his eyes could be so awful - what is he going to be like with glasses??? 
I had a severe astigmatism and I was near sighted. But no one had a clue I couldn't see. I even went through 2 years of preschool and a year of kindergarten. No one had a clue until first grade when the teacher was like you know your kid can't see right? I was able to read books and write but I had to hold the book real close.
He never knew any different so he has compensated for his poor vision. He is going to be unstoppable with his new glasses

He will look fantastic! Don't worry. I also felt the way the other posters did when I got glasses. I said to my mom, wow there are blades of grass, you mean its not just like one solid thing? LOL

Awwww, I know it is a hard adjustment for you. But luckily he will only see the positive outcome - how amazing the world will seem with clear vision!
My sister got glasses when she was 4. And she was so blind she literally walked in to walls!
Cailen will look ADORABLE with his new glasses! Can't wait to see pics!

don't beat your self up - my older brother has an astigmatism - the worst it possibly can be - the machines couldn't even correct for it - later in life he could wear the astigmatism contacts and after lasik he has 20-10 vision - they did not notice it till he was 5 so you are doing better then my mom and we have a history of eye problems
kids look adorable in the classes - just get 2 or 3 pairs because kids kill them - you can take the prescription to other places to get better prices

My 4 year nephew was just diagnosed with astigmatism and will need glasses. My sister wore and patch and glasses in first grade and I remember my mother feeling terrible that they had no idea she could hardly see until first grade.
Cailen will look adorable in glasses and just think of how much more amazing and wonderful the world will look to him!!

I got glasses when I was in fifth grade. My parents had no clue I needed them, and neither did I. When I first walked out with my glasses on I said "wow, a bird". I hadn't been able to really see them flying before because it was all blurry, but i didn't realize it wasn't supposed to be that way.
he will look totally adorable!

This is my fear 
I have horrible astigmatism and I've been wearing glasses since 3. Even now at 35, the world is literally a blur without my contacts.
Jim wears glasses too.
So its almost a given for AJ. I know I shouldn't be sad but I know I will be. I think its only human.
