Results from my 1st sonogram
I just got back from my 1st sono and I'm a little scared now. I'm 7w2d (since my LMP), but the baby only measured 6w today. They also couldn't see the heartbeat at all (even though the doc told me that at the baby's current size it's usually visible by now).
The OB has me coming back for another sono on Friday because she's a little concerned and said that we should definitely see it by then...if there is a heartbeat & the baby is viable
I'm so scared now...has anyone had or heard of a similar situation that worked out in the end?

Re: Results from my 1st sonogram
MAybe you O'd late? If baby is only measuring 6 weeks, it is unlikey to see a heartbeat then. Fri would still only be 6 weeks 4 days, a little early. Could you push your appt back until next week? Did he do any other tests like bloodwork to see if your beta was still going up? Lots of

Re: Results from my 1st sonogram
Thanks ladies
I was using a CBE OPK and got my smiley face on time, so I'm pretty sure that I O'd on time and that my dates are right.
The OB never received my bloodwork results from 2 weeks ago thanks to a lab mistake, so we're still waiting on that; but no, she didn't send me for more bloodwork. She probably should have, huh? I'm going to ask her when I go back again - no matter the results of the sono...thanks.

Re: Results from my 1st sonogram
Hopefully everything will work out for the best. I was off by 1 week because of the ovulation caculator. I could have sworn I was 6 wks, but it turns out I'm 7. I think its tough with our caculations and what it really turns out to be. Hang in there.

Even if you O'd on schedule, you may have had a late implanter. Don't give up hope!

even a positive OPK doesn't guarantee that you will O when you think you will... sometimes it can be delayed due to stress or no good reason.
sending you lots of good luck vibes

28 days like clockwork...so I'm really going to focus on my baby being a late implanter now

Re: Results from my 1st sonogram
I had the exact same situation last week. I went in at 6w3d to get the heartbeat but we didnt get one. I went back today, 6 days later, and there it was. It looks like i am now only 6w4d. I had a late implanter and just needed a few more days!
Best of luck, dont lose hope. It will be a hard few days, but hang in there!
Keep us posted!

Ugh! It will be hard, but thanks so much! You've given me hope!
My doc was very serious when talking about the statistical chances of a MC (for me specifically) & about how there's a good chance it WON'T be viable...she just spoke so matter-of-fact that I think it just spooked me a little too much...You've all been calming me down so much, though, THANK YOU!

Also there is a 4 day window of error with ultrasound I was told by my Dr. You should have new bloodwork though

Thanks so much I'm going to push for new bloodwork when I'm there on Friday. If she's really a little concerned (like she said she was) it seems weird that she didn't want it right away

Re: Results from my 1st sonogram
I had this exact same thing...I went in for my first sono and was under the impression I was 6W 3D, but there was no heartbeat. He had me come back in a week (didn't order any more bloodwork either) and the heart was beating away! He calculated that 1 week later I was only 6W 5D....so I was almost a full week off.
I either O'ed late or I had a late implanter...but whatever the reason, I am now 12W 2D and doing great!
Don't give up hope!!!
