Retirement/appreciation question
What would be appropriate to do for someone retiring after 15 years? A lunch? A Dinner? A gift? Who pays? The boss? Everyone chips in?

Retirement/appreciation question
My company recently did something like this for one of our co-workers. I believe the company gave a gift certificate and bought a cake and card.

A gift certificate is a nice idea. The boss is too cheap. he gave her a small cake from Waldbaums and that was it. Other staffers chipped in for pizza and soda, but after all she had done for him for so long, it seemed sad. Almost an insult.
