Retiring the swing? Is it time?
DS is not yet at the weight limit, my guess he is around 17.5-18 pounds right now, however, he turns his body like crazy in the swing and can almost sit himself up. I am afraid that despite being tied in, that he will somehow be able to turn and stretch himself to the point that he will fall out. DH thinks I am being dramatic. I say I am concerned. Since I am concerned I should just retire the damn thing...right?

if you are sitting and watching you could keep him in there. otherwise I would get rid of it

I dread the day I am going to have to get rid of the sleep machine. But I say trust your gut as well, too.

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
I would. I think you are like me and not super worrisome about every little thing so I'm sure the concern is genuine and I would trust my gut.

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
I retired ours last month. He kept trying to sit up in it and he seems much happier in the jumperoo or excersaucer anyway. Plus I was running out of room in my living room

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
We stopped using it at that point too - even though DS was well below the weight limit. Once in a while i would put him in it when he could sit up like that but less than a handful of times.

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
We retired it at 6 months. He was getting way too big for it and he was squirming around too much.

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
Once DS started pulling forward I retired it. Too risky.

Re: Retiring the swing? Is it time?
Trust your gut. If you have any concerns about it, don't use it. The risk is too great.
At almost 10 months we are still going strong with it but I know I am one of the lucky ones. She's pretty content to stay still.
