Retrieval Today- Update fertilization Report
I went this morning for my retrieval and did way better than the last cycle, thankfully! This time they retrieved 11 eggs so I am hoping that I will get a better outcome and 5 day transfer. Last time they only retrieved 5 and only 2 fertilized.
This time I woke up crying and hysterical laughing at the same time...last time just laughter lol.
I don't remember being this sore last time though. I feel like my right side is just sore and tender to the touch. Is that normal? I really feel like I was fine last time after the retrieval.
***out of the 11 retrieved 5 have fertilized. Right now I am set up for a 3 day transfer and they will call me tomorrow with a time. I'm a little sad, I was really hoping for a 5 day transfer since I had a 3 day last time which ended in a BFN. I don't know if I can do this a 3rd time...

hmmm, i don't remember being in pain, but i think the nurse thought it was strange that i didn't want tylenol right away.
i did feel some twinges over the next few days, every once in a while something sharp, but nothing that lasted.

I was definitely sore for about 24 hours. The whole area was just tender to the touch.
I didnt take tylenol or anything bc it wasnt intolerable but i think the soreness is totally normal.
It was gone by the next morning

Yeah for 11 eggs!!  Hoping for a strong fertilization report!!
My first retrieval was a breeze also. I felt loopy for a few hours but was fine by that afternoon and had no pain. I hope this retrieval (potentially this week!) is as easy but you never know...
Maybe this ER is tougher on you because you had more than double the amount of eggs retrieved?

Thanks ladies! I am glad what I am feeling is normal. Like I said, last time I really was fine no pain at all. I just took the Tylenol because she handed it to me. This time I was asking for it lol. You could be right though, maybe because there was more this time is the reason I am feeling it more so this time rather than last time. I guess I will see how I feel tomorrow. If I am still sore like this I will call the Dr. I haven't taken anymore Tylenol, trying to avoid it if I can but if it's still bothering me I might take some before bed.

The safest place for them is in YOU. To be honest, i have been hearing about a lot more 3 day BFPs than 5 lately. I wish you the very best of luck

As someone already said the safest place to have them is in YOU!!! Dont worry about day 3 or Day 5!! If it takes it takes! No matter what! Good luck and praying for one sticky one !!!!!

after feeling the same way last week & having to be talked down I totally understand where you are coming from. But like all the supportive ladies said they are best place for them is inside you & it really is just a numbers game & has nothing to do with quality or likelihood that they will stick.........

Good luck.
Really the only advantage of a 5dt is that if you have a lot of emby's (10 or more) it helps to weed out the strong ones (though there's lots of talk that maybe the bad ones would have been good if put back earlier...no one knows for sure and you can't re-due it).
Many many many successes with 3dt.
