Today's retrieval UPDATE
Well, Dr. Brenner did not do the retrieval - he is not available this week, I believe there was a death in his family.
I met Dr. Droesch for the first time - she is super nice!! She did the retrieval.
They were expecting to get 6 eggs - they found 7!!! I am very pleased, especially considering Dr. Brenner was worried that my FSH level would complicate things.
So, now we wait for our fert report tomorrow - transfer is scheduled for Saturday. SWIM little guys!!!!
I am now on the Medrol/Doxycyclene/Baby Aspirin protocol with PIO shots starting tomorrow for 3 days then on to suppositories.
Fingers crossed for a good report. The nurse told me that a 60% fertilization rate is really good, so if we end up with 3 or 4 good embies, I would be very happy.

That is GREAT NEWS!!! now i know why Dr. Brenner didn't see me yesterday, and why Eva filled me in..
How was the new place in Melville?? i havent seen it yet.. but i hear it all "state of the art"?? I am so scared of the who procedure, now they put me back till end of June/July :(

I felt so bad for Dr. Brenner, I was in the melville office yesterday and I heard one of the med techs talking about the wake for Dr. Brenner's wife, they said she past away last weekend from cancer. I am so sad for him, he is always so nice. .. Good Luck and sticky thoughts...:)

The Melville office is beautiful. The procedure and recovery rooms are definitely state of the art and IMO (having had several ambulatory surgeries at Winthrop) way nicer than having to go to the hospital.
Try not to be scared - honestly, this whole process was waaay easier than I ever imagined it would be. Your head makes it worse than it is in reality.

Wow - that is so sad. I knew there was a death in the family, but I didn't know it was his wife. How sad. He is a very nice man.

That is so sad about Dr. Brenner's wife. I have not met him yet but that is terrible.
