Returning things at Toys R' Us?

Can you return something to Toys R' Us that you bought from Babies R' Us? They both sell the same item. I'm just asking because I bought something today from Babies R' Us and now I need to return it, but it's a lot farther than Toys R' Us.

I would just call before traveling out. They been soo picky about things lately. One TRUS was going to make me return a recalled item to another TRU b/c it was purchased there.. I made them call the other store and they said since it was a recall i didnt have to do that.

If you know they sell at TRU and its not on sale, just say it was a gift.

not sure if they interchange the two but make sure you have a receipt either way. Around christmas time we went to TRU to exchange a broken tickle me cookie monster that DS got as a gift that was broke and they wouldn't even exchange for a new one without a receipt.
