Rides Question
So we're going to Dorney (i REALLY wanted to go to Sesame - but we left it up to fate & Dorney won)...:(
anyhoo - there are some rides in planet snoopy that i am NOT sure if she'd like.
example - the swings. what happens if we get up there and the ride starts and she FREAKS out? how do i handle that? I won't take her out of the seat - that would be moronic...but what would we do?
i don't want to scar her for life (making her afraid of everything)...so i'm not sure how to handle...
we'll show her the ride & what it does before we go on ANYTHING with her - but what if....
what do we do? has anyone ever had that happen??

Re: Rides Question
Most rides have a height limit. If your dd is young she probably will only be able to go on the really 'mild' rides. They usually have a fairly short duration.
The first time my girls went on a ride they were less than 2 years old. They cried when they went on and then they cried when it ended lol You can't win lol :)
If she enjoys "movement" she probably will enjoy the rides. If she has issues with movement than just be extra selective. Just use a lot of "affect" in your voice as you are on the ride. Like "yayyyy, or weee" etc. Distract her with anything she can notice...
I don't even think toddlers are allowed on the swings ? And if she is really having a hard time, I believe they will stop the ride.
The hardest part is understanding that there is an "ending" to the fun. What I do now is I prepare my girls for the ending and what they are going to do next.
I am sure you will have a great time !

Thank you so much for the reply!
She LOVES movement, loves being tossed in the air by daddy...etc.
There is a new section of Dorney called Planet Snoopy - and they have kiddie swings (i could swear i saw them)....
She was on a few rides last year at Dutch Wonderland and a ride or 2 at Hershey last summer as well, but this will be her first FULL TIME being aware and awake and having a blast time at an amusement park :)

Re: Rides Question
As you know we went to Dorney last weekend. You nor Dave will have to go with her on all the rides. The swings in planet snoopy are one swing. A larger seatnfor the adult and a smaller one for the child. They are connected ton each other. So worse case scenario, who ever goes with her, will be able to comfort her. The only way you are really going to know how she will react, is for her to try it. Honestly, when Lenny took Samantha on the swings at Sesame, I thought she would be terrified, but she was cracking up laughing the entire time!
