Ridiculous question... jarred meats = night wakings?

This is a ridiculous question, i realize... but humor me. Chat Icon

We just started ds on jarred meats (my aunt thinks he'll STTN if we give it to him Chat Icon) so we decided to try it. Well every since we did, i feel like he went from waking once a night to 4 times a night. Sometimes he'll just let out a few cries and go back to sleep. Sometimes not.

Has anyone who fed their dc jarred meats had a similar experience? could it be possible that they're making my son's stomach upset? Chat Icon

How old is he?

Did you go through all the fruits and veggies yet?

Try feeding him meats for lunch only, not dinnner....his system may not be used to it yet.

He's almost 9 months old.

Yup we've been doing all the fruits and veggies for months now.

Is it necessary to give him meats? I mean if i don't... am i depriving him of any nutrients he needs right now? Chat Icon

i posted about this the other day - and it was pointed out to me that at this age they get all the nutrients they need from formula and the solid foods are just extra to practice the act of eating.

we will not be giving DS jarred meats and there are several mothers on here who skipped the meats as well.

Yeah i didn't want to do them either. I just don't like the idea of it and i'd rather give him table food meat when he's ready.

I just find it so odd that he's waking like this and nothing else has changed for him lately. Chat Icon

It may be upsetting his stomach and giving him gas.

DD never liked jarred meat. I would boil chicken for her and put the chicken and the water it was boiled in the magic bullet to make her babyfood. I would freeze it in ice cube trays. You can mix with stage one or two veggies it you do not want to go too crazy making all kinds of baby food. If you still want to try meat at this stage this may be a solution for you. If not wait until he is eating finger foods.
